A Lament For Arwen Undomiel

Caped and hooded she walks alone

Her soul in broken shards

People stop and watch her pass

She ignored their ill regards

This maiden rarely stops to sleep

She hardly ever eats

Her beaten body caries on

As days turn into weeks

Long and far has she traveled

To escape the blinding pain

For she has loved and lost someone

This depression is her bane

Knowing not where she wishes to be

Her decisions are questioned now

She longs deep inside her heart

For her elf kin fair and proud

Though long ago they sailed away

Her father, brothers, friends

She stayed behind and pledged herself

To the man who now lay dead

Finally, she reaches somewhere

After days and weeks of nowhere

She stands in the remains of Lorien

Where Galadriel once ruled

Overcome with bitter sorrow

Her depression turns for worse

So many tears of sorrow are shed

Until the fair maiden lays down dead
