Don't own characters.blah. blah, blah. You know the drill.
"Now, Aragorn, do not stop until you get to Bree. Go into the Prancing Pony, remember when I took you there once? Go to the man at the bar, he will know what to do with you."
The boy made no acknowledgement of the woman's instructions. "Do you understand?" The young woman asked the small boy. He nodded, realizing the situation. Before she could send the horse away, more of the men attacking the castle ran at her. She drew her sword, ready for battle. Swinging left and right with great skill, she brought the four men to the ground. As she turned back to the boy, another man came from the right, around a corner. Before she had a chance to attack, the man had run her through. Without a even a chance to remove his sword from her stomach, she had beheaded him. She turned again to the boy, relying on the horse to keep on her feet.
"Now, you know where you are going?" her breathing had become heavy and her face pale. The boy threw his arms around her neck, hugging her. More of the enemy rushed into the court yard. "You have to go now!" She shouted. Young Aragorn did not want to remove his small hands from around her neck. She ripped away, "I will see you there!" She said with a smile.
"Fly, as fast as you can!" she yelled to the horse. The small boy on top on the animal was clinging on tightly, repeating her instructions to himself over an over. The tall, brown horse began galloping away from the hectic battle waging all around them. Aragorn turned to see the woman once more. She was fighting with all her might to keep all the men rushing into the small yard from the castle from chasing him. He watched until he could no longer make out who was who, even then he continued staring back, hoping to see her riding after him.
He remembered the reassuring smile she has flashed him before he had rode off. Now, he saw straight through it, though it was too late. He knew she would not be meeting him in Bree. Only four years old, and already alone.
He never saw her again.
