This is a short one shot that I wrote for the holidays. I own nothing but a laptop.
Son, your father and I are going to New York for Christmas. You need to stay at Hogwarts this year. Love, Mother
Peter Pettigrew read the letter over and over. He wouldn't be seeing his parents this year. He couldn't believe it. Why would his parents betray him like this? He went to his dorm, sat down on his bed, and began to weep.
Remus Lupin remembered his letter. He wouldn't be going to his home this year. He knew none of his friends would be saying over for Christmas, and he felt alone. He went to the library to get a good book to soak up his feelings.
Sirius Black reread the letter. He was glad he wasn't going to his parent's house, but he knew he would be the only Gryffindor in the dorm, and he didn't like to be alone. He went to ask James if he could stay at his place.
James Potter wrote his parents a letter, saying he would be staying at Hogwarts. He had heard that that bastard Snivelus and sweet Lily Evans were both staying. He couldn't miss a chance to talk to Lily and annoy Snape. He went to the dorm to see if anyone else was staying.
He walked in to the dorm. Peter was there! But why was he crying? He heard "parents" "no" "stay" and "alone". Peter looked up.
"Why are you crying, Peter?" he asked.
"My parents said I had to stay here for Christmas," he sniffled, "I'm alone."
"No you aren't Peter, I'm staying too," reassured James.
"You are? Thanks James!"
"Nothing to it. Snivelus and Lily are staying."
"What did you get Lily this year?" Peter asked, snickering.
"You don't need to know," Mumbled James.
Remus and Sirius entered. "Guess what? Remus and I are staying here! Too bad you guys can't," said Sirius.
"Hey man, guess what? Peter and I are staying too! All four of us can hang out together!" screamed James.
"Looks like a great Christmas to me," said Remus.
"A Marauders' Christmas," said James gleefully.
"Yes," they all agreed.
And so, arm in arm, the Marauders walked off. It would be a good Christmas after all.
