Cold
Urahara Kisuke sighed as he desperately tried to pick the lock to the shed. The lock pick snapped and he let out a sigh of frustration as he removed the fragmented metal and pulled a spare pick from his pocket. He carefully slid it into the lock and jiggled it around, waiting for it to catch on the mechanism deep within the lock.
Under normal circumstances, he'd wait for Tessai to come back and unlock it with his key, but he'd already made the massive man unlock it multiple times that day and he'd most likely get pissed and yell at him if he found out Kisuke had locked himself out yet again, so the blond scientist decided he get back in himself. The lock to the shed was a funny thing. It tended to lock by itself, so everyone always left the door open... Except for Kisuke, who almost always managed to close it on his way out.
"Tessai will be more pissed off if I bust the lock than if I get him to open it again," Kisuke mumbled to himself, his breath creating a cloud in the frigid air.
"I need to get you one of those block thingies people use to keep doors open for Christmas," Yoruichi said, startling the oblivious blond. "Hurry up or you're gonna catch your death out here."
"I'll be fine. Besides, I'm already dead and so are you," He smirked.
"Have it your way, Mr. Smartass," she shrugged as she pulled off her scarf and wrapped around her companion's neck.
"What are you doing?" He asked, dubious. Yoruichi couldn't help but laugh at his expression.
"You're no good to me as a human popsicle, so you need to stay a little warm," she laughed, her eyes shining. "I'll be in the house . Come and find me when you give up so that I can warm you the rest of the way up."
"Yeah, yeah," Kisuke replied as he watched her retreat into the warm shop.
Once she was out of sight he brought the scarf up to his face and inhaled her scent, a soft smile spreading across his lips. He gave the fabric to last good whiff and turned his attention back to the demon lock.
Short and sweet, hehe. I didn't want to drag this out and make it boring, so yeah.
Anyhoo, if you enjoyed reading this as much as Kisuke enjoys smelling Yoruichi's scarf...
