Disclaimer, I don't own LOTR (Lord of the Rings).

Hey guys, I'm alive! I've been gone for god knows how long, sorry about that…got busy with life. But here I am, back with a LOTR story! (announcement for watchers) will also be trying to update Demigods at Hogwarts. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the story! Italics are thoughts.

Areth's POV:

The world blurred around me, and my eyelids were heavy. Part of me wanted to just close them and let sleep take over me, but the more reasonable part kept me forcing my eyes open. I let out a hallowed sob and clutched Athaeben's mane, my breath keeping time with the pounding of his hooves to the ground.

The deep wound in my side scorched my nerves, who cried out in agony, making me tighten my jaw to keep from screaming. I buried my face even deeper into Athaeben's silver-white mane, silent tears wetting the silky hair, so unlike any other horse's hair I'd ever felt. While theirs was rough, his was smooth, like running water under my fingers…

Water splashed up onto my thighs, making me think, "Perfect timing…"

We were crossing a river, clearly. Suddenly, Athaeben stopped, neighing (crying?) in fear. I lifted my head, shaking with the effort of simple movements. Nine darkly robed figures stood on the other end of the river.

A female elf with a…hobbit (A hobbit, of all people?) were galloping across the river, the elf with a panicked look in her brilliant blue eyes, and the hobbit…looking rather out of it.

"C'mon." I murmured to Athaeben, giving me a half-hearted kcik. That was all it took for him to speed off, across the river.

So…dizzy…

AN: Now, before you all butcher me for doing a scene from the movie, hear me out:

The movie had much more description of the scene, whilst the book only really had Frodo passing out. That and the fact I can't remember too much from the book right now *has massive headache*. So please don't kill me….

By the way, this is only the introduction, and the first *real* chapter will be out soon. Please review (they provide me with motivation) and I hope you liked the story.
