This was an assignment for English. It's a poem based off this quote.
It was curious to think that the sky was the same for everybody, in Eurasia or Eastasia as well as here. And the people under the sky were also very much the same everywhere, all over the world, hundreds or thousands of millions of people just like this, people ignorant of one another's existence, held apart by walls of hatred and lies, and yet almost exactly the same people who had never learned to think but were storing up in their hearts and bellies and muscles the power that would one day overturn the world.
The repeated parts should be on opposites sides of the middle line, but FF is being annoying and it's past midnight and I'm to tired to make it work now.
I stand here looking up at the sky I stand here looking up at the sky
I look down and see them all
Living my life Living my life
Do they notice each other?
Knowing my world Knowing my world
Do they know they are the same?
Knowing I am alone Knowing I am alone
I know this must end
This is my world This is my world
But not knowing how
I am here I am here
Together they might be able to
Living my life Living my life
But they don't even know the other exists
