The wind blows in her raven hair touching the bulge of her tummy. She feels so happy yet so sad. She's happy because she almost fulfill her long time dream, to have a wonderful husband and to bear his child. But despite of that she feel the emptiness of her being because her husband was still the former Hitokiri Battousai, he has a great responsibility towards this era and of course this country.
"Don't worry he'll come back. Ofcourse he always will." came from her soft voice reassuring their child and herself as well. Today is 14th week since he leaves for the meeting towards the officials of Japan. And as far as overheard what he says towards Yahiko. It's all about the threatening war between China. Since then he often leaves Kaoru in her 4 weeks of pregnancy. He said he must protect the people in this country to perish his sins.
And now Kaoru was 5 months pregnant and obviously can notice her tummy. "I wonder if he still wandering around to think of
attending the war soon. He made himself a vow not to kill because of her, Tomoe" she said that name make her heart twitch. Ofcourse she shouldn't have to be jealous to that dead woman but she can't help of doing so. That woman is used to love by her husband alter-ego Battousai, they even get married. She is the woman that provoke Kenshin to protect by his sword instead of killing. And let him to wander for almost 10 years. By that thought left Kaoru notice the moist in her eyes and gently wipe it away.
"I should be strong. For you and your father" sighs Kaoru.
Kenji grew up to be such a wonderful boy. Even though he rarely sees his father because of the Sino-Japanese war, he didn't misses him that much for when he asks his mother what his father looks like she smiles and say "You just look exactly like him". So he just look at himself in the mirror when he misses him.
Her mother never lack anything to him, Kaoru were always loving and caring mother. She is patient at his father. He always told Kenji "He'll come back, he always will" she smiled at her son.
