The wind blew gently through the large chambers, playing with Lhaewion's hair. He sighed and motioned for Agrestan, his slave, to attend to him. As Agrestan began to braid his master's long silver hair, another gust of wind went through the room, causing Lhaewion's thin body to shake momentarily. As Agrestan goes to close the glass doors, the door leading to the conjoined powder room opens to reveal Elladan, the crown prince of Rivendell and fiancée to Lhaewion. He leans against the doorframe for a minute, watching as a painful spasm rocked through his mate's body. He moved quickly to Lhaewion's side as the spasm subsided.
" Hello, stardust. How are you feeling, love? Any better today?" he whispered in his pointed ear.
"No, moonshine. My lord's treatment did nothing to make the hurt subside. It is unlikely that anything will."
"Sweet starshine, my heart, have hope. Maybe he will find something, something that will help. You must have some hope."
Lhaewion tickles Elladan's nose with his single plait.
"I've given up hope for the moment, love. I don't have long, Dany, and I don't have enough time for hope. Now, help me, please. Episodes make me weak."
Elladan picked him up, carrying him to the bed they shared. Lhaewion whimpered as his hair caught in the crook of Elladan's arm. He laid him on the bed and flopped next to him. Kissing him on the cheek, Elladan motioned for Agrestan to leave the room and blew out the candle.
