The blood of Hastings

40 year old Spencer Hastings sit in her office when her best friend Aria Montgomery enter the room.

"Aria, come in. Have a seat." says Spencer.

"Thanks." says Aria as she plop down on the couch.

"You never met my sister and her husband, did you?" says Spencer in a sad tone.

Spencer grab a photo album and shows Aria a photo of Melissa Hastings and her husband William North.

"My older sister...Melissa Hastings. Very strict, highly uptight. Always need to be right about things. Like a military officer." says Spencer.

There's also a photo of a 9 year old girl.

"Reyna..." says Spencer.

"Oh, your niece." says Aria.

"Yes, she's so different from her mother. She's a dreamer, a girl with visions and she has always been so...very sweet. I was gonna meet them next month, in New York City, I intended. Reyna's always wanted to see the Hastings Tower, but that will not happen 'cause...Melissa and Reyna has...died in a fire. Since I was a small child I've been told about the family line. The Hastings who fought at the Battle of Cadbury Hill in 1327, the Hastings who won the Nobel Prize for Literature, the Hastingses who served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Lately I've discovered that the best part of my life's behind me. When my sister got married and had a daughter I felt that..." says Spencer.

"You felt that it was no longer your job to carry on the family name." says Aria.

"Exactly...that's it, yes." says Spencer. "Reyna was the closest I'll ever come to ever have a kid of my very own, but now there'll be no more Hastings people." says Spencer.

"That's so sad." says Aria.

"No, these things happen." says Spencer, trying to not cry.

"Spencer, it is sad." says Aria, as she comforts Spencer.

"Thanks, Aria. You're a wonderful friend." says Spencer.

"I'm always here for ya." says Aria.

"Awww! That is so sweet." says Spencer.

Spencer and Aria hug each other.

"No worry. I will be around as long as you, my friend." says Aria.

"I hope you're right." says Spencer.

"Me too." says Aria.

"Do you want some coffee?" says Spencer.

"No, thanks. I need no more coffee today." says Aria.

"Alright." says Spencer.

"Yeah, but a glass of water would be nice." says Aria.

Spencer give Aria a glass of water.

"Thanks." says Aria as she drink her water. "Did you hear that Ali got a job at Vergeria's?"

"Yeah. I'm happy for her." says Spencer.

"So am I. After all she's been through she deserve to be happy." says Aria.

"Indeed." says Spencer.

"See you tomorrow." says Aria.

"Tomorrow?" says Spencer confused.

"Yeah...our tennis game, remember?" says Aria. "You owe me a rematch."

"Oh, yeah! Forgot about that. Right...see you tomorrow." says Spencer.

"Have a sweet day." says Aria as she leave.

"You too." says Spencer.

2 hours later, Spencer is in her car on the way home.

"I wish there was a way to bring Melissa and Reyna back to life..." says Spencer.

Once she get home, Spencer pull off her clothes and takes a nap on her big cozy bed.

45 minutes later she wake up.

"I should see a doctor about my sleeping problems." says Spencer.

Spencer drink some coffee.

She then put on a black leather t-shirt and tight white jeans.

"Hmm, where the hell is my tennis things?" says Spencer.

She search for an hour and finally find them under her bed.

"Ah, there they are." says Spencer.

The next day, Spencer and Aria play tennis at the Rosewood Sports Centre and Aria wins.

The End.
