Right now : Rey - aged 15 kylo/Ben - aged 17

Rey watched in fear as her best friend ben took the lives of the young padawans from Jedi school . After Ben had meet a strange man named stoke Luke had began to try and separate the two friends apart because Luke was afraid of the outcome if the easily angered teen accidentally killed his best friend .

A few days prior to this day

Ben solo had gotten angry with Luke who had been keeping Rey close by his side to avoid Ben hurting the younger girl who just gazed lovingly into bens eyes , the reason he had got angry was cause Luke wouldn't let him see Rey cause luke claimed that he needed reys help with something or she was getting extra training but he kept coming up with new excuses everyday and Ben was missing his little Rey or ad he called her sometimes his little Rey of light , but every time he got angry he would take it out in different ways this time he had got his saber out and was slashing at things . Rey hated seeing her friend so upset so she had tried to step in but and she did so she had gotten in bens way and he accidentally slashed the young brown haired girls all down the left side of her body and because she had put her hands up and out to try and stop the light saber it cut the under neath of her arm and all down to about her hips in one long scratch . He didn't notice he had just his scratched the poor girl until she fell to the ground letting out a blood curdling scream of pain and he looked down as did Luke at the same time and Ben saw the damage he had just done to young girl and saw all the blood pouring out of her as she had he good hand pressed against some of the wounds to try and stop the blood flowing out of it. Ben fell to his knees crying out reys name and apologising " it's fine Ben it was just an accident " grimaces Rey gritting her teeth In pain he puts an arm round he hurt girl and put another arm under her legs so he is able to both carry the light figure and to allow him to hug the bleeding girl close " put her down Ben " states luke annoyed " you have hurt her Enough as it" he says almost shouting now but poor be. Refuses and pouts out If was accident but then Rey cuts in " master Luke please let Ben take me " she says snuggling in pain into bens chest as he carries har to the nurse, the girl didn't care that this boy hurt her she cared to much about him to care if he hurt her by accident because it was just that ... an accident, he never ment to hurt her , he would never hurt the girl who he had clasped to his chest who he would protect with his life , forever ... right ?...

No ones POV

Arriving as fast as he could Ben set the bleeding girl onto one of the hospital Beds , he looked down at Rey a single tear running down the 15 year olds cheek . He had his eyes closed . He didn't want to look at the damage he had caused the girl , another tear , he didn't hear the girl gasp in pain as she lifts up her arm to the crying boys cheek , he didn't even sense it with the force , but the girl was gentle as she wiped away the tears that had fallen down his cheek, he then brought his own hand and placed it above hers , he loved the feeling of her skin on his , it's was warm, comforting to the boy and it ment he knew the younger girl was still there . He didn't want to leave but the nurse came in and told him " Ben I'm afraid you will have to leave so I can examine her properly" the teen didn't understand and stupidly without thinking said " but I already know how bad it is besides I don't want to leave her and blood doesn't faze me ." The older woman laughed a little knowing the boy didn't understand and watched as he frowned at the laughter " Ben you have to remember she is a girl and you also have to remember I need to get a better look and access to the wound so I can heal it " said the nurse , Ben paused for a moment then realised how stupid he was being and what the nurse ment , his eyes widened slightly with realisation and he muttered an apology before going over to the smaller girl , he took her hand that wasn't hurt and gave it a squeeze before leaning down to her ear and whispering to her " I'll be back as soon as possable okay " he pulled away slowly hovering above her cheek for a few seconds , pausing to consider weather or not to kiss the girl but then realised the nurse was watching so he stood up straight and walked out.

He sat on the chair outside the room Rey was in . His head was hurting from everything that had just happened and he put his head in his hands , he couldn't hold it in any longer, he started crying, tears pouring down his cheeks , it was his fault this had happened, if he hadn't gotten so angry, if he had been able to control his temper , he cared a lot about Rey , she was his best friend, he didn't know what he would do without the girl , suddenly he heard foot steps approaching him , he sat up wiping away any or as much traces of the fact he had been crying as possible, he looked up to find his uncle staring back at him .

" is she okay asked the older man

" I don't know uncle , they won't let me in till she is done , because she's a girl it's not allowed for a boy to go in" sighed the boy

" I'm sorry uncle " said the boy another tear running down his cheek " can you teach me how to control my temper... I ... I ... I don't ever want Rey to be harmed again." Luke nodded to the crying boy ...

Reys pov

I'll admit I was a little scared of Ben after he hurt me with his lightsaber but I knew it was an accident and i was still alive so it was fine , although every now and then the wounds will open and start pouring blood and it really is annoying given the fact I usually wear white or cream clothes and the blood stains it but it does me that I notice if it's bleeding again rather than if I was wearing black I probably wouldn't notice till I had bleed to death.

I felt bad for Ben , I barely seen him before now I'm lucky if I see him once a week because master Luke is training his anger but he's really just doing it so that I don't have to be anywhere near Ben so he can't hurt me again , but I miss Ben .

His anger didn't seem to be improving or getting better, if anything they seem more frequent but I'm sure master Luke is doing everything within his power to help Ben.

It's had been 3 months now since bens accident and yet my cuts still hadn'tfully healed and were occasionally opening and bleeding sometimes

Then one day master Luke came to my room where I was practicing what Luke had taught me earlier that day and told me we had to leave I grabbed a few items and followed Luke , then I heard screaming, my fellow students screaming, I continued to follow Luke until the screaming got louder , until Ben was infront of us lightsaber being forcefully pushed through a young jedi s heart and then watching as the child fell to the ground, dead .

Luke threw out his arms to hold me back and stop me from running to Ben to stop him . He turned to us and pointed a finger at me and spoke to master Luke " where are you taking Rey ?" He asked harshly " away from harms way so you can't hurt her again " this obviously wasn't the answer he had been expecting " give her to me " he said I shrunk back in fear a little. Then Ben got out his lightsaber and Luke got out his .

Or was obvious from the start of the dual that Luke was going to win , after he force threw Ben into wall temporarily knocking him out Luke told me to hurry and follow me and we ran to Luke's ship and boarded it Luke got it stared and it was hovering about to take off whe. I heard bens voice " reeeeeyyy " I heard him shouting almost crying " REYY I WILL FIND YOU , I PROMISE YOU ... I WILL ALWAYS FIND YOU ..." he shouted , tears pricked my eyes and fell dow. My cheeks as we took of into hyperspace ...

Bens POV

I was so angry as I watched Luke hurrying into the ship ushering Rey as fast as he could into the ship before him. I was running as fast as could to get Rey back , I didn't want to loose her so I threw my saber down so I could run faster , but I watched as the door of the ship shut and as the ship started to take off , and it hovered just above the ground readying it's self to take off into hyperspace, so in a last attempt to get Rey back I shout to her and Luke

" REEEEYYY " I shout " REYY , I WILL FIND YOU,I WILL ALWAYS FIND YOU ... I PROMISE " no sooner than I make my promise the ship containing Rey and Luke takes off into hyperspace and I fall to my knees as I watch Rey disappear, and I just cry , not in anger , but in sadness because I need Rey back ... it's in that moment ... that I realise ... that I realise why I need her back ... because ... I love her ...

In this chapter Rey - aged 7 Ben - aged 10

Rey POV

Luke had brought me here yesterday, he said I would be trained to become a Jedi , because my grandfather obi-won kenobi was a great Jedi when he was alive and I had the force within me . This confused me if grandfather had the force in him why didn't mamma and papa , but when I asked Luke this question he told me he didn't know and now we would never know because... mamma and papa died in an attack from the first order yesterday, Luke says that the first order was looking for me.

" but mr Luke, I don't get it why do the bad people want me ?" I enquired and Luke look down at me a grim smile across his face and answers my question " because you will be a very powerful Jedi one day but the first order want to harness your power for doing bad things " I was still confused but this answer was as good as any.

It's our stop and me Luke pulls our ship out of hyperspace and landed it about five - ten minutes away from a temple like building and about a dozen smaller buildings maybe more . Luke took me to my small house and showed me witch one was my room .

I didn't have anything because it all got destroyed in the attack , but I did have one memory of my parents , it was a necklace that projected a hologram of my parents , it was a full body hologram and i could make them appear whenever I need them .

Like now for instance, I opened the locket necklace and the room suddenly glowed blue as my parents flickered into view . They smiled at me . I sat on the floor infront of them cross legged , and I talked to them . I knew they couldn't hear me but I still spoke , I told them how scary it was here, how lonely I felt , and how much I missed them . Then I stoped as I heard whispering coming from outside my door. I closed the locket and the room went black. The whispers got loud enough for me to hear what was being said as I walked towards the door . The voices sounded like children voices and they where talking about someone

" she's talking to herself " * sniggering *

" is she crying " * giggles *

" she's so weird like the Ben kid " * laughing*

Then I realise they mean me they must have heard me talking to mamma and papas hologram. I can't take this , they must think I'm crazy. I open the door quickly to reveal about 7 or 8 kids outside my door , they look startled at first until they start laughing at me mockingly

" oh mamma it's so scary here " on boy mocks

" papa I miss you " teases another

I can't take it anymore so I push aside the people who are mocking and laughing and I run out and away, tears falling down my cheeks as I run ...

No ones POV

Rey runs as fast as she can up the hill into the forest beside the strange temple thing running and running till she runs into ... a boy ... she stumbled backwards almost falling until the boys hand flys out grabbing her hand stopping her from falling but her hands were clammy and her hand slipped from his and she fell hitting her head against the tree behind her. She looked up at the concerned face of the boy who had tryed to help her and she heard his voice or at least she guessed it was his asking if she was okay but she couldn't respond all she could see was stars and she couldn't talk either she then felt her head begin to spin before all she could see was darkness.

Meanwhile kneeling by the little girls side , Ben was worried about her but he had used the force to see what the damage was and she didn't have a concussion at this he was relieved . He looked at the little girl and thought for a moment them finally came to the conclusion this girl must be new . His train of thought broke as he noticed the girl was stirring at began to sit up , it wasn't till this moment that he noticed streaks running down her cheeks . " where you crying " he asked , the girl nodded , there was something comforting about this girl he thought to himself and he spoke a little more gently this time asking " are you okay " she nodded again , then tears started running down her cheeks again and the small girl threw her arms round the older boys neck hugging his and making his shoulder wet from tears .

He tryed to comfort the young girl and he put his arms round her as well , because of how long his arms where he probably could have fit another person in the hug but he just continued hiugging her . They stayed like this for some time before she pulled away slightly and realised she had some how gotten onto sitting on his lap she put her cheeks to his and whispered to him " in Rey " at she pulled away ferther he put his arm protectively round her middle so she didn't fall " in Ben " he replied "I can be your friend if you want "

Looking at her tear stained cheeks and wiping away another falling tear he says very gently " you look like you need it " and they smiled at each other ...

Bens POV

I smiled at the little girl sitting on my lap crying. I felt bad for her . I offered to be friends because I gathered if she had friends she would probably be with them right now rather than me . I didn't have any friends, the other padawans make fun of me here so I often come to the forest for some peace . And even if I ended up with this tiny little girl called Rey as my friend then I would be happy with any friends I could get . I decided to brake the golden silence " Rey ... what's wrong ... why are you crying ...and why were you running ... was someone trying to hurt you...???" I asked

She sighed and told me everything , about her parents dieing , about coming here , about talking to the last memory she had left of her parents, about over hearing the other kids and about them mocking her. She cried when she was finshed and I hugged her close again. And I told her that others are mean to me to , " we're like ... out-Cast-ieys " I laughed a little knowing she ment outcast .

I felt such a connection to this tiny girl .

" how old are you Rey " I asked "7" she replied " I'm 10 " I told her . She gazed up at me in awe " wooow " she said almost toppling backwards. I laughed " it's not that old " I teased poking her she giggled sweetly. Then suddenly stopped and stared at me seriously. " Ben ? Can we be friends? " she asked , I smiled someone actually wanted me to be they're friend . I felt so happy . I hadn't felt this happy in ages " I would love to be friends Rey " I replied. She then threw arms around my neck again so forcefully I almost fell . But I hugged her back squeezing her tightly yet gently. A tear trickling down my cheek and I sniffed , startling Rey she looked at my tear and asked why I was crying " your my first friend" I said " I've never had a friend before " the girl smiled sadly at my two statements" wanna know a secret " she said coming closer so she could whisper something into my ear " I've never had a friend before either " ...

No ones POV

The two children were very happy with what had just occurred, they both had a friend , they smiled at each other . Ben looked up at the sky above the trees . Neither child had noticed how dark it had gotten, the stars where out and everything. Braking the silence Ben said to the little girl . " Rey it's getting late look the stars are out and everything." She looked up when he mentioned the stars and gasped at the sight and beauty of the stars . Leaning back so much that she fell beck and just lay there watching the stars smiling . She then turned to the boy who was laughing slightly at her cuteness. "Can't we stay a little longer , pwease" she begged " you know master Luke's going to kill you when he finds out "

He watches as her smile falls a little as she says " they remind me of mamma and papa " Ben smile faded a as he remembers this girl just lost her family . He looks up as another tear trickles down the girls cheeks as she stares at the stars. He leans over and wipes away the tear and lie down beside her . " I suppose a little longer won't hurt " he smiles as they lie and gaze at the stars , little rey begins to get sleepy and eventually she rolls over facing Ben and hugs into him for warmth . Ben looks down at the tiny girl and rolls over too . Putting one arm under her small frame and another over her protectively before pulling his cloak round and over the two of them and she snuggled further into his chest , he looks up at the stars once more and whispers to them " thank you " before closing his eyes and falling asleep with her , both of them smiling.

Unknown to the two children someone had been watching over them the whole time , and understanding that Rey needed some time he let them do there thing and just watched over them , Luke skywalker smiled knowing at last that he would be able to tell his sister that her son , Ben had finally after 10 years found a friend.

A person was also with Luke , but this wasn't a living person, this was a force ghost , this force ghost was obi-wan kenobi, young reys grandfather , he turned to Luke and spoke , " you don't have to remain her Luke , you know they will be fine , I will watch over them , I will always watch over these two , as will your father when the time is right , Aniken will need to guide his grandson away from the dark side" concern spread across Luke's face " what if my father can't ? What if Ben turns to the dark side ," obi-wan smiled " remember Luke your father turned back to the light , Ben will be okay ." Luke nodded to obi-wan and walked away leaving obi-wan to watch over the two sleeping children. Smiling he said " oh Rey , you will be able to save Ben , you are his last hope , my dear grandchild ." Smiling as his words echoed

Reys POV

After flying away from the Jedi school with Luke *

After hearing Ben shouting after me and hearing his promise, it was all I could think of and I sat down on the co-pilots chair and I cryed . I didn't know what else to do , I had lost my only friend. Tears pouring down my face I turned to Luke

" we have to go back " I said , he glances over at me trying to concentrate on driving the ship

" Rey we can't it's to dangerous " said Luke

" but master Luke I can save him " I cryed

" Rey if we go back he could kill you " said Luke as gently as he could

"But ..."

"No buts rey this isn't up for discussion" Luke almost shouted

" but..."

" I said no buts rey " Luke cut across

" but..."

" Rey " he sounded annoyed

" BUT I LOVE HIM " I shouted so Luke couldn't cut across me this time

He looked at me both startled by my words and sudden aggression

I broke down in floods of tears the tears wouldn't stop .

Luke looked at me and realised what he had done , he pulled me and Ben apart

Finally he broke the silence other than me sobbing my heart out " does Ben know "

I sniffed " I never told him"

He paused as if pondering weither or not he should tell me before saying " he loves you to"

If it was possible I cried harder , I always thought he just saw me as a little sister so I had never told him my real feelings plus I didn't want to ruin our friendship

We sat in silence for about l0 minuets before I asked " master Luke , where are we going "

He took some time to choose his words

" I am taking you to Jakku "

I gasped Jakku is a desert , no one lives there and the only way of getting food or anything is by scavenging old parts for fallen ships dotted across Jakku .

It's miles away from everywhere

Which means ...

There's no way in the galaxy ben will look for me on Jakku ...

Because nobody goes to hide on Jakku ...

The only reason people are there is because they ...

I glance at Luke ...

Cause they are abandoned there ...

No ones POV

Luke noticed the fear radiating from rey , he told her about them going to Jakku, but he didn't tell her that he was going to have to wipe her memory.

As much as he didn't want to take away her memories he had to , otherwise she would end up trying to find her way back to his nephew, Ben . She was beginning to fall asleep so Luke pointed to the door that lead out of the control room and lead to some smaller rooms , some of which that had beds " you need some rest rey there's a few rooms that have beds you can go and get some sleep you look like you need it " said Luke Sge smiled both sadly and sleepily in response and stumbled to a room and lay down and fell asleep ...

dream *

Reys pov

I could hear bens voice calling out to me , " REY " it shouted , worried " I'm here Ben " I replied and I could see him running round the corner towards me he looked happy at first until his face turned and became angry and Ben pulled out his lightsaber, running faster towards me , I stumbled backwards and tripped over something behind me and I Tumbled backwards hitting my head in the process I looked up and Ben was above me , I tryed crawling backwards away from him but I couldn't get any further away as my back collided with a wall , Ben lifted up his lightsaber above me ready to kill me and seconds before he plunges the saber down I scream his name " BENNN" ...

wakes up*

I wake up shouting Bens name and I look around to see nothing other than the empty room of the ship me and Luke escaped the Jedi school that Ben was destroying .

I then notice the ship has landed and i looked out the window to see nothing but sand .

I run outside to find luke standing outside and i notice we are infront of an old Ewalker luke notices me and beckons me to follow him into the Ewalker and I look around.

It's very ... what's the word ...cosy .

It looks like a little home . There are what looks like shelves with strange are tight packets of greenish things and there's a large barrel in the corner with what seams to be a small tap like thing on top I look at the other side of the room and see a small bed with about five pillows and seven or eight blankets and there's a basket next to it with clothes overflowing out of it .

I turn to Luke and he glances outside and shuts the door as he notices a sand storm kicking up .

" this is where you will stay , there is a flowing water source" he says pointing at the barrel thing , and then pointing at the packet things he says " these are food , you crush them up and and ad the power to a bowl of water and it becomes food " he tirns behind us to a bunch of shelves thAt I hadn't noticed and says " there's a bunch of things that you might need and there's cloths and a place to sleep and theres a hoverer outside for you to get to the nearest outpost ." he says handing me a bunch of keys .

i was shocked cause i realised that my suspicions where true, he was leaving me here ... abandoned ... and ...

Alone ...

Luke's POV

I looked at the sad girl as she realised I was leaving her .

But leaving her wasn't as bad as what I was going to do next .

I she turned away , I used the force to make her fall asleep and she landed on her new bed .

I stood next to her and lifted my non - robotic hand to the side of her head and I went into her mind ... and I started to block her memories , I didn't wipe them so when the time was right I could bring them back so she can save the galaxy but she needed time .

Then I gave her new memories ...

Memories of always being on Jakku

Memories of how to live as a scavenger

Memories of how to scavenge

Memories of what she does everyday

All of these weren't real but they would have to do , for now

I then went out and took from in the ship a droid

And I left it with Rey

She could either keep it for company or sell it for food

Before I left her for good I turned to her and spoke gently " one day you will understand why I have done this , but until then , ... im sorry "

I boarded the ship and looked back one last time before taking off into hyperspace ...

No ones POV

When Rey awoke she had no recollection of Luke who had left minutes before she woke

Or Ben who as she sat up was looking for her

Or the grieving families of the you jedi killed by Ben

She didn't even know what a Jedi was when she woke

She sat up and looked around then got up and grabbed a bowl from the self and grabbed a packet of food and after filling her bowl with water she poured the powder into the bowl and left it to sit for about a minute watching it as it bubbled into bread.

Picking it up she walked to the door of the Ewalker home and sat down to eat .

It was surprisingly good , it wasn't to dry or stale , and it was still warm and when she ripped it open it already hat warm butter inside it.

She sat in silence as she ate it , savouring it as she ate .

After she ate she went back inside and turned to her new droid and pressed the on button.

" hey R2D2..."how's things "she spoke talking to the droid that bleeped his response

"Same " she said turning to get a drink

Unknown to her the droid sent two messages too two different people

- the first message read the following

———— master Luke , Rey has woke up and. ————Everything is going well , I will send ————another message if she needs any ————help .

And the droid sent it to Luke

The second message read thus

~ ben

don't worry about Rey , I will look over her and I will send a hologram if she is in trouble, she is safe and I'm sorry this was for your own good , and hers.

And with that R2D2 sent the second message too...

Ben solo ...

Bens POV

I'm still in the Jedi school , I went to the control center or otherwise known as Luke's office, to see if I could find any plans of where he was planning to take Rey.

I searched everything from folders in his cabinet to every single file on his computer. I searched for almost 6 hours but I couldn't find anything.

I was about to give up when a message from a droid came through . I opened it expecting to see it addressed my previous master Luke , but what I saw wasn't Luke's names , it was mine , it was addressed to me , ben

It read :

~ ben

don't worry about Rey , I will look over her and I will send a hologram if she is in trouble, she is safe and I'm sorry this was for your own good , and hers

I gasped

I was so angry

I wanted rey back

I needed her back

I cared about her so much

And I don't want to loose her

I can't loose her

Seconds after reading the message I felt something in the force.

And suddenly there was a shooting pain in my head like my memories were getting pulled away from me.

And I knew what it was

Both my force connection was broken with rey and ...

Her memory had been taken away ...

Her memory's ...

Of me ...
