You are the life in this planet of death
and I watched you walk away
The sun hung high, the air was hot
Silent tears followed you as you left.
Could you feel it to?
Did you hear my prayer into the howling wind?
"Please, keep him close, keep him safe
and bring him safely home to me..."
I stood watching after you
long after you had gone
Watching the wind erase your trail
The sun finally set.
The chill night arrived
and I finally returned home...
only to journey to your room
and breathe in the scent of you.
The stars shown down upon me
as I laid in your bed
my head upon your pillow
Your presence was everywhere
and I welcomed it with tears.
Minutes turned to hours
as I finally fell asleep....
I awaken in the night
by soft moonlight breezes
and feel a gaze upon me.
I sit up straight and look around
and my gaze falls on you.
You are standing in the doorway
smiling down at me.
Aqua eyes
You're alive.
I look away, suddenly embarrassed
for you found me in such a place,
but you make your way towards me
and lay beside me
Tears run their courses down my face
You're back.
You look at me, into me, touching my soul
My pride is gone
I reach out and touch your cheek
You're real.
"You came back..."
You put your hand over mine
Our fingers intertwine
"I wasn't sure you would."
You look at me, "Why?"
I'm afraid to meet your gaze,
"You had nothing to come back for"
Then you smile
My tears are kissed away
and lean close to me
cheek to cheek
and you whisper in my ear
"I had everything to come back for."
A soft sob of joy escapes my lips.
And you smile once more.
Beautiful aqua eyes
Then you touch your lips to mine
and I melt into you...
