Kids Next Door Arctic Base - 10 AM - 4 Years Prior to Operation E.N.D.

It was cold, the metal walls and floor didn't help this fact as they instead increased it's potency. Yes it was all in his head (except for the actual bellow zero temperature) but Alan Maxim, a 6 year old 2nd grader, couldn't help it, it was just natural to feel the cold intensify from the surroundings. He remembered how he ended up here along with the other kids that showed promise to the world wide group known simply as the Kids Next Door. He recalled the day with striking vividness, something that was new for Alan.

San Antonio, Texas - The Day Prior - 3:40 PM

Alan was walking home from school with his friends, kids from his school were all excited and ready for the weekend for their usual activities and goofing off. However the day was hot and there were no signs of ice cream trucks anywhere, something that puzzled most of the kids due to the fact it was May and they were easily over 30°C. Alan said his farewells and went his separate way, his eyes peeled for any ice cream truck passing by or even if the local ice cream parlor was opened.

Sadly it wasn't, the sign on the door red "Out for Lunch" meaning the adult in charge would be gone all day. He groaned and walked to his home, an old house painted white, surrounded by an improvised wall and fence made out of cinder blocks, sheet metal and wooden planks. Alan entered the house, his face receiving a small and gentle breeze from the AC as he entered and shut the door behind him. Be could hear his father working in his garage/car shop fixing up some stranger's truck while his mother was in the kitchen preparing lunch.

Alan went to his room to drop his school work off, the room was littered with drawings and posters made by your's truly, most of them were war or combat related. He kicked his sneakers off and changed to a pair of shorts and sandals for being at home then headed down to the dining room when his mom yelled to everyone "Food is ready!" Alan didn't keep her waiting and hurried down to the dining room just to bump into his old man, only saying "Dad." and his father responding "Boy." showing that there was tension between them.

They never saw eye to eye, his dad was a hard working man who always expected great things from his son and nothing less, while Alan was failing science and math, he was breezing through history and arts class, taking more from his mother's side of the family. They simply walked to the dining room and sat on opposite sides of the table, their plates served with a nice juicy steak, a nice helping of mashed potatoes, and the infamous broccoli. Alan gave his mom his thanks and started eating up everything on his plate, for the sake of his mother.

He knew his mother meant him no harm, she always listened to him and helped him out when he needed it, so eating some veggies was the least he could do for her. Most kids would have been complaining or throwing a tantrum at this point, but not Alan, Alan grew up having to eat what his parents could afford, so it was mostly a given that there was veggies on the menu. He knew they were poor and that he couldn't go and be picky, but sometimes, sometimes he simply wanted to not eat.

Thankfully this wasn't one of those times, he finished his plate, picked it up and left it in the kitchen sink, hurrying to his room he told his parents "Gonnadomyhomewrokthengooutwithmyfriends." His dad hated when he spoke fast and had scolded him for it, but he couldn't be mad when his son was doing his work first then going out rather than the other way around. Alan yawned as he blazed through his homework, he really didn't like homework, especially the metric ton they gave every kid, but it became routine after he started getting the ropes. He finished in half an hour and get dressed in blue jeans and his sneakers.

After that he ran out the garage and took his bike to the park down the street. Along the way he could see dozens of kids all waiting for an ice cream truck to pass, making Alan sighed and continue on his way. He arrived to the park and watched as some younger kids ran around and played games while at some places some teenagers hung out and bragged about their social life. Here there was one rule, don't cause trouble and you were fine, everyone obeyed that rule to a certain extent.

Alan looked around for his friends and sighed when they didn't show up. He chained his bike to a tree and headed to the vending machines, the day was hot and he needed a root beer. But on his way he heard the jingle that caught every kid's attention and looked, an ice cream truck was driving by the park. Alan hurried to the truck along with half the park to get some sweet ice fold treats, but the truck didn't stop, it just drove on by, making most kids grown or sigh in disappointment, but Alan was tiered of this.

He got on his bike and chased after the ice cream truck full pedal, thankfully the truck didn't notice him. Alan was reaching for the back doors of the ice cream truck, but it was always just inches out of his reach. He groaned and knew what he had to do, he took a deep breath and jumped to the doors and hung onto the handles for dear life. Sadly he lost his bike and the slam of him to the truck got the attention of the ice cream men inside, meaning it was go time for Alan, and they sped up.

The first ice cream man swung both doors wide open, but there was nobody there. Alan was hanging onto the door then when the adult peeked, kicked him in the face and sent him into the asphalt then jumped into the truck with on swing on the door. The next adult, a tall man with blonde hair and blue eyes and the typical white uniform and pink tie, held an ice cream cone like if it was a gun and aimed it at him. Alan quickly took cover behind the of the freezers and watched a scoop of vanilla ice cream fly past him.

He looked at it and spoke up to the adult "So you want a food fight? Fine buddy, you got yourself one." Alan reached to get one of the cones on the dispenser and hoped it was also one of their ice cream guns, and thankfully it was. He fired 2 pink scoops of creamy strawberry ice cream at the adult and watched him fall back with two pink splatter marks on his chest. The driver heard the fight quiet down and asked "We good guys?" However Alan pointed the cone at the driver's head and said "Yeah... We good.. Just turn around and park back at the park."

It didn't take much more after that as the driver sighed and turned the truck around and parked on the same street as the park and started selling ice cream while Alan held the "Scoop gun" as he called it, aimed at the adult. It took 10 minutes for the members of Sector T to arrive to answer the call, but found the kids eating ice cream already. They raised their brows and walked up to the Adult, his terrified expression told them something was up.

Numbuh 168, a 10 year old with short raven hair in a buzz cut and who wore a white shirt with the logo for root beer and blue jeans pointed his gum gun revolver at the ice cream man and asked "Who else is in there...?" The adult opened the back door and revealed the scene before them, an adult being held hostage by a six year old with one of their own weapons and a tied up adult in the freezer. Numbuh 168 had a shocked expression and watched as Alan left a 20 dollar bill on the counter and told the adult "Get yourself something sweet." then left with a watermelon ice pop.

Numbuh 168 stopped Alan and asked "Did you bring this ice cream truck kid?" Alan simply nodded and licked his Popsicle, making 168 clap and ask "You interested in joining the KND kid? We could use operatives like you." Alan raised his bros and asked "What's the KND?" This made 168 sigh and explain to him to meet him tomorrow for a small trip. Alan agreed and left the park on foot, knowing he was gonna get it this time for losing his bike.

-Flash Back Ends-

Alan shivered as he watched other cadets huddle into their own groups, most of them being friends from their own neighborhoods. Alan felt kinda alone now and noticed some loners looking around, mainly two girls, a blonde wearing a light blue jacket that reached her feet and a red head with a green turtleneck and brown pants. Both of them noticed him and asked "You alone too huh?" Alan simply nodded and asked "How did you two end up here?" The blonde replied in a sweet tone "We showed some kids in our school that we can help one another and some fifth graders asked if we could come."

Alan nodded and asked "What are your names?" The blonde gave an adorable smile and replied with "Rachael T. McKenzie, from Virginia." The redhead simply answered with "Francine Fulbright." Alan smiled abit and replied to them with "Alan Maxim from San Antonio, Texas." The three young cadets talked for a moment until a certain supreme leader arrived. His blonde hair covered his right eye and he wore red armor with a Colander on his head. He smiled at the young recruits and spoke in a humbled tone "Welcome cadets, to the Antarctic training grounds for the Kids Next Door."

At this moment all the cadets got in line and stood one beside one another while Numbuh 274 walked in front of them, looking at each one for a moment. He stopped when he spotted Alan and spoke up "What's your name Cadet?" Alan replied with "I'm Alan Maxim, sir." 274 smiled and spoke up to the entire group of cadets "Cadets! Alan Maxim, as an example, is here for showing what it means to be a KND Operative. He single handedly brought an ice cream truck to his neighborhood selflessly. Take his actions as an example!"

The cadets all murmured for a moment then 274 asked Alan "We usually put cadets a random number, but would you like any number yourself?" Alan gave this some thought and nodded, answering with "Is 1916 taken?" 274 laughed and patted Alan's head and said "Now it is... Numbuh 1916." After that 274 spoke up again and said. In a loud voice "The KND protect kids world wide! We help them when adults and teenagers try to ruin our lives, remember this cadets!" After that numbuh 87 started dividing them into small groups for training.

Alan was paired with both Rachael and Francine along with two of their oldest friends, Nigel Uno and Hoagie P. Gilligan. All five cadets spent the rest of the day going through KND boot camp, some like Hoagie having a harder time to keep up while others like Nigel showed a natural gift to being in the KND. Alan fell somewhere in the middle, he had his strong points, and he had his weak ones. All five of them were being trained by senior class operatives, with the most surprising being Nigel being trained by 274 and Alan by Number 9.

Alan's House - 2 Weeks Later - 9 AM

Alan had finally started his summer vacations and it started with a bang, the KND had managed to convince parents world wide to send their kids to what they called "Summer Camp" witch really was the excuse the KND used to send their cadets to training for the summer. Alan had packed a duffel bag's worth of clothes and was waiting with his parents to be picked up. Alan watched as a school bus stopped in front of his house, the kids inside chatting to each other like usual.

The doors swooshed open and revealed number 274 in a casual football jersey and a pair of shorts, he smiled and looked at his clipboard and asked "Alan Maxim's parents?" Both Alan's mom and dad nodded and shook 274's hand firmly with him saying in a cool and smooth bravado "My name is Chad Dickinson and I am in charge of the kids during the trip, it's an honor to meet you." If there was ever a bigger kiss up, it would be him, but it was his role, an act to convince them, and it worked.

274 got the usual questions "Will he be safe?" and so on. 275 had already repeated these lines to dozens of parents. He convinced them with ease, with Alan's parents saying their farewells and hugging their child firmly. After the good byes Alan got on the bus and found some familiar faces and some new ones as he looked for a seat. He eventually found himself sitting next to number 9 or as most called him, Maurice. Alan and Maurice started talking until the bus was far away enough from his house that it converted into the KND's C.O.O.L.B.U.S. and flew south to the Antarctic base.

Maurice chuckled when some of the newest cadets, Alan included, got a small scare from that and told him "Calm down 1916, i remember my first time and boy was it worse back then... We didn't have seat belts... Or doggy bags.." Alan couldn't help but laugh from that statement, making Maurice pat him on the back and ask "Made any friends since you joined buddy?" Alan looked back afew rows down the bus to look at Rachael, Francine and Nigel, making Maurice chuckle and elbow Alan's arm with a "Nice catch buddy." as his only comment.

Alan raised a brow in confusion and didn't press the matter, number 274 stood up and spoke up to all the kids on board "Alright cadets! This summer will determine if you guys become operatives for the KND or are positioned as support, both have their ups and downs, so no complaining, now hang on! This ride is about to vet bumpy!" The Coolbus jumped from regular flight to full mach 2 speeds, sending alot of kids jolting into their seats. Alan and Maurice held onto the seat in front of them and felt the stupid urge to simply yell "Wooooo!" for as long as they could.

In the back the girl's weren't holding up so well, mainly Francine who had already used one of the doggy bags the seats had stored in them. Rachael on the other hand was holding on better than her redhead friend, although she was starting to feel some dizziness for a moment. Nigel and Hoagie both simply held onto anything they could and tried their best not to hurl their breakfast out their bodies. 274 simply chuckled and took his seat by the pilot until they reached the base, he knew this would be a hilarious summer vacation.

KND: Arctic Base - 11 AM

Alan and Maurice stood afew meters away from the others vomiting, the ride did affect them to some extent and boy were they regretting it now. 274 watched and sighed as one of his best commanders and a cadet puked their insides onto the ice, to say he was disappointed would be an understatement. Once both of them finished did they join with the others, with Chad shaking his head to Maurice, a cadet was okay, they didn't know better, but a commander committing that error was just stupid.

Alan joined the other cadets as they headed towards the cadet quarters, with Alan talking with Hoagie about the design for a suit of armor. Alan wasn't really the engineer or equipment expert, or expert on anything for that matter, but he enlightened Hoagie with some flaws in his designs, mainly having to due with clunkyness and lack of mobility. Having drawn alot showed Abel alot about how to keep enough room for movements and flexibility for joints, and now it seemed Hoagie was also taking this into consideration now for future designs, making Alan feel abit better after puking and looking like an idiot.

Nigel walked beside 274 and watched as the other kids all chatted without a worry in the world, but he knew there was reason to worry. He had talked with 274 about the KND and was determined to make the world a better place for kids world wide. Thankfully he had his friends here to help him and knew he would make more as time passed here in training.

KND: Arctic Base - Meeting Room - 5 Weeks Later

Maurice smiled at the file of the new cadets, to say he was proud of this batch was an understatement, he took a seat and started the video call with 274 who was up at the moon. Maurice took a seat, kicked back with his feet on the table and began "Supreme ruler i believe we finally found where to set all the cadets that will approve their final test." Number 274 gave an amused smile and asked "You usually never tell me anything, so why is this so special?" Maurice put up a file reading "Sector V" and maikg 274 go wide eyed.

274 smiled and asked with pure excitement "We have finally found new members for Sector V?!" Maurice simple raised both his hands in a calming manner saying "Whoa whoa whoa calm down man. Yeah i did, but we do have one issue... There are 6 operatives... But only five vacant for Sector V." Maurice sent the Cadet information for the 6 members that could make it in. Nigel Uno, Hoagie P. Gilligan, Kuki Sanban, Wallabee Beetles, Abigail Lincoln and Alan Maxim. 274 looked through each cadets file and sighed, it was a no brainier, but that left one member sectorless. He typed in the new orders and set numbers 1 through 5.

KND: Arctic Base - Cadet Quarters - 2 PM

Alan was sitting in his bunk, the room was empty with the other cadets playing out or training to lass the time. Most of the cadets were 5 year olds, with himself and less than a handful being older. Alan sighed and left the room, he didn't get bored easily but even he needed to find something to do every now and then. Alan headed down the narrow corridors carved into the ice and reinforced with metal and looked for anyone who needed something to be done or to just hang out with.

Alan simply walked out until he reached the cafeteria, it was crowded decently, kids had their food and chatted here, while others played some games or started small arguments there. Alan sighed and got himself a meatball sandwich then took a seat by himself, he was not prone to being alone, but in this moment he really just felt like it was better than causing trouble, especially without anyone to back him up. He didn't know why, but since he woke up he had a bad feeling about today, a really bad feeling, the kind you can't shake off.

And then it started, the whole base started shaking for a brief moment, like if something had crashed up top. After a moment the alarms went off with Maurice yelling into the intercom "Adults are attacking the base, cadets! Battle Stations!" It didn't need to be repeated, all the kids hurried to arm themselves at their nearest armory. All the kids were armed with the most abundant weapon the KND had, the M.U.S.K.E.T. it was simply a bottle of mustard with a red handle, but boy was it effective. While most cadets put on training armor, Alan just put on a jacket and scarf for the cold.

While most cadets knew how to use the basic side arm, some were armed with the S.C.A.M.P.P., a wooden plank with two handles under it, and a flashlight, magnifying lense, and bottle at the top, basically, a laser riffle. Maurice came out with a dark green winter coat and holding a Scampp then told all the kids waiting by the entrance "Alright cadets... Today we will have to defend this base until we get our back up. I won't lie... Alot of you will get hurt, but remember... Never surrender. FOR THE KIDS NEXT DOOR!"

The entrance opened and the kids ran behind Maurice, their rally cry was deafening and their determination was that of finely tempered steel. All the kids stopped when they saw Mr Boss' ice cream men charging at them, their cone armor keeping them protected from the cold elements as they charged. Some kids jumped into the frozen trenches and started firing at the Adults. Alan was about to receive a scoop's worth of pain when Maurice pulled him down and yelled "Be careful! These guys won't fight clean, and neither should you! Find a partner and stick together!"

Alan nodded and he jumped into the trench and where he landed on top of a certain blonde and redhead. They both pushed him off but stopped when they noticed who it was, with Rachael quickly saying "Sorry! Didn't see you there... What's the plan?!" Alan noticed that most kids stared at him and asked them "Why you staring at me?" Francine replied in a worried tone "You and Maurice just talked! What's the plan?!" Alan quickly knew he was cornered, then spoke up "Anyone who is good with a gun i want as peeked out the trench and firing at the Adults, anyone who can't i want as support, we need medics, comms and runners. We can't lose this line!"

The kids nodded and scrambled to positions, the gunners shooting down any ice cream men in their sight while their support brought them supplies and ammo. Some kids jumped over the trench and charged the Adults with nothing but their side arm and a meter stick as a sword. Alan noticed some kids with injuries coming into the trench and ordered them to go to the nearest medical outpost on the double.

Rachael and Alan both fired until their weapons ran dry and had to reload, while in the group of ice cream men Nigel and his friends fought in hand to hand combat with the adults. Alan took cover while Rachael kept firing and told him "This is so much fun!" Alan peeked quickly and took a scoop of vanilla to the head and fell backwards ainto the trench. Rachael's smile vanished as she ducked and started yelling for help, for a medic, for anyone. Thankfully Francine came with a first aid kit and started removing the ice cream, most of it was already solid as ice from being shot and this did leave him with some nasty bruises.

Once he was able to see again he was greeted my the solemn expression of the young girls, he simply gave a smile and said "Not out of the fight yet." He got back on his feet and watched as both girls stared at him with worried looks. He sighed and asked "Give me your musket..." Rachael obliged without arguing, then he pulled out his and jumped over and into the fire fight. Both girls yelled for him to return until they saw he was taking them down left, right and center, they didn't want more kids getting hurt so they simply fought on, fought until they were tired and kept fighting on.

KND: Arctic Base - Jully 29th - Mid-day

Alan stood beside his fellow cadets on this day, the day they would graduate and be sent out to their own sectors. After the attack Mr boss threw a while back did most of the cadets prove their determination and skill to the KND, however Alan was nervous and waited for his name to pop up, Nigel and the new Sector V had already been formed, while other sectors like C and S were being finished as he waited.

Alan watched as Rachael, or as she is now called Number 362, was assigned to Moonbase along with Francine, or number 86 now. The day passed and now Alan was the last one, everyone managed to get sent to a sector or posted at a base of operations, now came Alan's time. Maurice didn't say anything, instead he walked up to Alan and said "I won't lie buddy, but we don't have a place in Texas for you... But." Maurice smiled more and asked "Would you like to be part of our special task force? They work solo, off the grid.. Your approach, your rules."

Alan looked up at the dark skinned kid, he simply asked "What's the catch?" Maurice smirked and said "Smart kid, catch is that your missions will be significantly more challenging, and also... You won't report to the Supreme Ruler... You will report to the me, understood?" Alan now was thinking really hard, he eventually nodded, making Maurice smile and stare "Then, Welcome to the KND special operative Numbuh 1916." Alan saluted Maurice and both left to get on the Coolbus and prepare for another bumpy ride.

On the trip back Alan managed to sit next to Numbers 86, 362 and 1 for most of the ride. The first question he was asked came from Nigel who asked him "What's the first thing you plan on doing 1916?" Alan smiled and replied "Well first thing is first, rest. Tomorrow is gonna be a big day anyways so no need to rush." 86 looked over at Alan and asked "Big day?" Alan nodded and answered her in a simple tone "Well yeah, it's my birthday." Nigel looked at him and asked "How old?"

Alan replied quickly with "7" making Nigel sigh and tell him "That means you should be careful good chap, once 13 it's farewell." Alan sighed and nodded. Rachael smiled and reassured "Don't let Nigel bring you down, alot might change. Who knows, maybe the war will end before then." Alan simply smiled and said "Thanks." then proceeded to sleeping during the 3 hour trip back home. Rachael watched for abit before her and Franny started talking about what to do once they got home. Meanwhile up front Maurice watched the kids and chuckled, knowing they were gonna do just fine in the future.

Alan's House - 3:40 PM

Once the Coolbus reached Alan's home did the farewells start, some kids gave Alan their KND addresses and numbers while other simply wished him luck. Alan waved to them as the bus passed then headed inside, the heat was oddly comforting after spending 2 months on the ice. Alan walked in and noticed something was off, the lights were off and it didn't smell like food. He looked around and snuck trough the house until he found his parents, and a mess of cones and ice cream. He also found a note, reading "Last Chance, Stop Kid."

-Fast Forward 4 Years-

-Kids Next Door - Moonbase - 1 Week after Operation END

Alan had just arrived to Moonbase on his own Mosquittoh, he came with a shipment of Ice cream for Moonbase. He had been working any job the KND had for him for the past 4 years, from ice cream and cake runs to smuggling root beer and 2x4 up to Moonbase. Alan had been doing this for long enough that he was considered a master at it. He docked the Mosquittoh and had some of the kids on pickup duty take pump the ice cream out and send it to the parlor for everyone to enjoy.

"NUMBUH 1916!" Yelled everyone's favorite Head of Decommissioning, Number 86 stomped her way up to Alan and demanded "What is the meaning of this! You are Ten Minuets late and your Mosquittoh is damaged! Where is your status report!" Alan groaned and answered her with "The report is up with the guys in charge of the Landing bay, and as for the Mosquittoh, TAKE A GUESS! I took ice cream from Mr Boss and had to make every detour just to get here in on piece, so BUZZ OFF!"

Alan and 86 had a stare down for a solid minute before Alan stood down and said "Fine fine fine... Just get off my case will ya? It's bad enough i don't get a thanks, last thing i need is to get scolded for doing my damn job." 86 kept her scowl for a moment until she sighed and ordered "Fine, but now you are needed for a top secret mission... Meet me at the parlor at sector V later today. And go up to 362's office, the supreme ruler wants to talk with you." Alan nodded and left 86 to yell at the other KND operatives.

Alan arrived to the Supreme Leader's office in record time, he took his helmet off and let his Raven hair lose as he walked in. He found Rachael sitting by her desk, piles of paperwork surrounded her as she blazed through them, she was so focused that she didn't even notice Alan until he whistled to her the stereotypical "Wsssshhhht wshht" making her blush. Rachael smiled and spoke in a warm but tired voice "welcome back to Moonbase Alan... Take a seat."

McClintock Middle School - Parking Lot

Maurice was walking through the parking lot as he passed a dark skinned teen his age, simply telling her "Have as many teens prepared... Tomorrow we will strike the deal."

And the ¨Pilot Episode¨ Operation: Revolution. Here are some points i would like to make, just to get some things out of the way:

-Yes I did rewrite some established events that happened during KND, but tried keeping it as close to the show as i can.

-This fic will be AU in some regards (nothing too big, and if so i will notify you guys)

-This Fic is rated M for good reason, you don't like seeing kids beat each other up and have romantic relationships, then i kindly and respectfully as you to look else where, thank you.

-Harem, Yeah. Up to now only two are confirmed: 362 and 86.

-I am open to hearing your suggestions, and criticism, so like i tell others from my other fic's: Rain hell on me.

And that will be all for this one, and it's a pilot for a reason, if it get's your attention, i'll continue it, if it doesn't then too bad for me i guess.

Like always, i'm still in the trenches, and hope you enjoy.
