Lily hears shrieks of laughter from the living room. She wipes her hands on her apron and pulls the cookies out of the oven to cool. Flipping off the oven, she goes to investigate.

James tickles Harry as he squirms away, laughing. His laugh is the most beautiful thing to Lily. Then Sirius swoops Harry up and throws him in the air, catching him easily. Despite the fact she doesn't like it when either James or Sirius does that, she enjoys the shrieks of pure happiness that Harry makes.

She wishes she didn't leave her wand in the kitchen because she wants to summon her camera from upstairs to capture this moment. Her heart swells with love as she watches her loves play with their child. James watches Sirius laugh along with Harry with unconcealed love on his face.

Sirius holds Harry close and coos at the eight month old, "How about we get you that toy broom now? I bet you'll love it!"

"Nice try, Sirius," Lily says, as she crosses her arms across her chest. "He'll be at least two before he gets one."

"Oh come on, James is with me!" he counters, looking back at the other man. "Give the kid a broom. He'll love it!"

James holds his hands up in mock surrender. "I'm not fighting for another lost cause. Lily's anger is legendary."

He leans closer to James and whispers conspiratorially, "Does that mean we're not doing that thing later?"

Lily tries to hide her grin, but she fails. "Only if you want to find out what I have planned for April Fool's Day."

Both James and Sirius light up at that. Lily crosses the room and takes Harry from Sirius' arm. James wraps his arms around her waist, being careful of Harry, and kisses her cheek.

"We'll never surrender. We have a title to keep, you know," he says.

She laughs brightly. "At least wait until Harry's nap is over." Harry yawns and rubs his eyes. He blinks slowly at her and then grins brightly. "I think it's time for his nap."

"I suppose we could call a truce until then," Sirius says, sighing. "But only if it includes those delicious cookies we're smelling."

"Go ahead," she tells him. She seals the deal with a kiss. Then she heads up the stairs to Harry's bedroom.

As she sways back and forth, she wonders how she got so lucky to have two men who love her so much and a happy baby boy. She wouldn't change it for the world.
