AN: Hey, I've decided to try getting out more one-shots in order to get my creative juices flowing. I've really been struggling with writer's block, but I am continuing my chaptered fics. Slowly, but surely.

She stood outside the Uchiha compound, thinking about the boy she would've thrown her life away for. Back then, as a naïve twelve year old, she would have if he let her. She would have done anything, if only he had asked. Her world revolved around him and him alone.
She chuckled at the thought of her twelve year old self. She didn't even know him back then and try as she might, she couldn't understand why those feelings took so long to go away. She understood now why he did the things he did, and for a moment she pitied what he had become. He was cold and empty. He could never love her the way she used to love him. And then she pitied herself, because she had wasted so much time hoping he would come to his senses and return home - to her. He hadn't come home for many years and when she had finally given up on him, he had returned.
She had given up on him, because he was cruel. She had given up on him because she was nothing to him, because she was only in his way, because he had caused them all so much pain. But she kept fighting for him, she kept fighting, because Naruto hadn't given up on him. She kept fighting for him, because Naruto believed in him and she believed in Naruto.
He had sought her out when he returned, to apologise, to see who she had become. She had smiled at him and forgiven him, but deep down, in the deepest, darkest pits of her heart, she couldn't. It was hard. One apology just didn't make up for years of suffering. But she forgave him for Naruto's sake, because Naruto deserved to have his family whole again, because Naruto deserved all the happiness in the world. She would do anything for Naruto. He didn't have to ask.
She stared at the empty compound with a heavy heart. She had missed the young Uchiha dearly, but he had been gone for so long. Having him home was strange. Interacting with him was strange. It was strange because he allowed her to interact with him. She was no longer annoying. What did it all mean? He couldn't have changed overnight.
Her heart was heavy. It was so heavy as she entered the compound. It was so heavy as she followed his chakra signature to his family home. She felt for him, she really did and it hurt. It always hurt. Because Uchiha Sasuke caused her nothing but hurt.
She knocked lightly and waited, hoping he wasn't really home and that the chakra signature inside was a lie. But it wasn't a lie. Her heart was so heavy, but she had decided a while ago, it was time to let go of all that hurt.

So that's it ^_^ I know it's something I can improve on, but leave a review and let me know what you think, I look forward to hearing from you.
