a/n: just a short little one shot, my view of what might have happened post team player (minor spoilers). figured now that i'm done writing useless crap for school i'd write some all important Jam.

Bags in hand Sam let himself in to her house, looking to the couch where he had left her that morning - she wasn't there. "Jules?" he called. After dropping the bags on the kitchen counter he found her on the bathroom floor, recovering from her most recent conversation with the porcelain gods. He couldn't help feeling guilty on behalf of his immune system - she'd been out with the flu all week while he was feeling 100%. He knew it was bad the second she said she was calling in sick - Jules Callaghan didn't call in sick. It was unheard of.

"How you feeling?" he asked, knowing full well what the answer would be.

She gave him a 'kill me now' glare as she brushed her teeth for what she estimated to be the 30th time that day. "You're back late…did the team get a call?"

He sighed. "Yeah… worked out ok though, good talk from Ed. How's the fever?"

She frowned. "As of an hour ago, 102…what smells?"

He sniffed his shirt - guess he'd absorbed some of the wine stench off of Spike's wine kit. "Ah, sorry 'bout that, apparently the guys have taken up wine making."

She looked slightly confused, then shrugged and made her way back to the couch. "You don't have to stay here tonight you know, I'm not going to be much fun."

He smiled. "You wait here," he told her as he walked away to her kitchen.

She rolled her eyes - where did he think she was going?

He came back in, two large grocery bags in his hands, looking very pleased with himself. "Stopped by the store on the way over and picked up a few things. We've got chicken soup with the tiny noodles, and chicken soup like stuff that doesn't have noodles so its just basically chicken juice, ginger ale, day and night cold meds to help with the fever, and neo citran so if all else fails you'll at least be out cold and get some sleep for an hour or two tonight. Where would you like to start?"

She let herself smile. He was too sweet.
