So, here is the first letter of my Castle half of the alphabet. The other half will be dedicated to Bones. I'll be working on these shots till the end of the year.
R
REGRET
Katherine Beckett didn't have to raise her head from her desk. She knew he was coming the moment he stepped into the office.
Was it because of the sound of his typical footsteps – she asked herself – or was it just a gut feeling, an instinctive reaction of her body to his presence in the room?
As he sat beside her desk, in the chair that had become his over the years, she smelt him, drinking in his masculine scent. Her lips slightly moved upwards in contentment but she quickly regained control of her emotions sure he would notice immediately the change in her expression.
And he's so damn good at that, at observing every little change on my face. She thought.
"Hey, Beckett."
"Hi, Castle."
It only took him a quick glimpse at her to realize she hadn't left the precinct.
"You have spent the night here?" he asked her.
"Yeah"
"And how did you sleep?" he inquired concerned.
"I didn't. " she answered.
"I see… here – he added handing over a cup of hot coffee – I thought you might need some caffeine, and I was right."
"Thanks Castle." she replied averting his gaze.
Oh, those eyes… - she thought - nobody should be allowed to have those deep blue eyes… they should simply be illegal. And when he looked at her, holding her gaze, she felt absolutely helpless. Of course, being a cop and a though one too, she was used to keeping eye-contact with people. It was something she was actually very good at in the interrogation room. But with him she had come to realize quite soon that the way he locked his eyes with hers meant so much more than a simple look.
And her mind flew to the night they spent in L.A., in that luxurious hotel suite… she had fled from him, leaving him alone on the couch after a blissful moment of eye-sex between them. She had had to struggle not to let herself loose her sanity as he dug his amazing eyes into hers, stripping her bare without even touching her, sending waves of chills through her spine and up to her brain.
And when she had finally leaned on the door of her room, hands covering her face, she had known, right away, that that would always be her biggest regret.
