Happy Mother's Day! Taking a second to tell everyone how awesome my mom is! This chapter is dedicated to her for putting up with all my shit over the years! Anyway, I had this little plot bunny in my head and it kept making me laugh, imagining The Doctor in this kind of situation. I don't own Doctor Who. Please review and enjoy!
"I don't want to do this."
"It's too late. We're already here."
"Technically, we're still inside the TARDIS, so we can still-"
"Doctor."
"Yes, Rose."
"You said you'd do this for me."
"…when was this?"
"This morning."
"When this morning?"
She gave him a look.
"Ok, see, when I said I'd do anything, I didn't actually mean-"
"Doctor, please. It's one day out of the year."
He groaned loudly. "Rassilon, ok, let's go." He pushed opened the TARDIS doors and followed Rose across the parking lot and up the stairs and towards Jackie Tyler's home. As he walked, his feet got heavier and heavier, to the point where she was dragging him towards the door.
She stepped to the side and motioned for him to knock on the door. He clutched the flowers and steeled his nerves, knocking on the door twice. When it opened, Jackie Tyler looked confused and surprised to see him. "Doctor? Where's Rose?"
"Here, mum." Rose said, smiling at Jackie. The eldest Tyler looked back at the Time Lord. "Why do you look so nervous? What have you done?" He thrust the flowers at her. "Here." She eyed them suspiciously. "Why are you giving me these? Is there something wrong with them?" "No." He asked, looking ready to bolt. Rose nudged him. "Happy Mother's Day, Jackie." He said in a rush.
Jackie looked at the flowers in his hand before taking them cautiously. She looked back at the Time Lord who looked half-terrified, half-embarrassed. To her own embarrassment, she felt her eyes fill up with tears and some of them escaping down her cheeks.
"Ah, Rose." The Doctor squeaked, concerned. "It's ok, we talked about this, remember? Happy tears." Rose soothed her lover. He still looked so lost. "What do I do?" He asked, looking to her for guidance. "Hug her."
"WHAT?" He shouted, horrified. "Do it!" She ordered, looking at him menacingly. He groaned loudly before looking back at Jackie, who was trying to get it together.
He slowly, robotically, put his arms around her and hugged her, his whole body stiff. "I just want you to know, that I'm only doing this because you're Rose's mum." He informed her, looking wildly around, checking to make sure no one could see him. "Yeah, well, only reason I'm not smacking you with these flowers is because you're my daughter's significant other." She told him with a sniff, hugging him back. He relaxed into the hug slightly, looking over at Rose.
He looked so out of his element, the fact that he was even doing this for her, was making her fall even more in love with him. She beamed at him, proud and happy tears in her own eyes. He smiled back. He was happy that she was happy, because honestly, he was her willing slave and would never deny her, but this was pushing things.
Jackie released him, pushing him back slightly. "Ok, you've done your duty, Doctor. Run off to wherever you were before Rose dragged you over here." She told him, wiping away the tears and smiling. He smiled back. "Thanks, Jackie." He took Rose's hand and squeezed it. "Shall we, love?" He asked. "We shall, my love." She grinned and they left, talking and giggling all the way back to the TARDIS. Jackie watched them go, shaking her head. Hopefully, they would get married (on earth. Jackie didn't care if they were married on ten other planets, earth was the one that counted). She would feel a lot better if they were husband and wife, so that The Doctor would take extra care of her Rose.
Maybe one day.
Yep
