A/N: Hey guys! This is my first attempt at writing something with the 11th Doctor. Thanks to ~Creekrunner on dA for the prompt!
The Fez
"Amy! Amy, Amy, Amy!" The Doctor was running frantically around the TARDIS looking for his latest companion, wearing a grin the size of Texas on his face.
"Amy!" The Doctor called again, zigzagging through the maze of hallways.
"What, Doctor?" The redheaded girl sounded annoyed as she flung open her bedroom door. The Doctor had run a few steps past her room, so he quickly pivoted and sprinted back to her door, a huge grin still dominating his face. In his hand, he was clutching crumpled sheet of paper that looked like it had been torn out a magazine. He screeched to a stop in front of her door. Amy leaned against the doorframe, folded her arms, and sighed, knowing that she was about to hear yet another of the Doctor's rambles.
"So I know you were trying to sleep, but I was bored and had nothing else to do so I was poking around the TARDIS and found a room full of all these magazines and I started looking through all of them to see what they were, and…" Amy zoned out as the Doctor kept speaking in run-on sentences. A minute or two later, she was snapped to attention when she heard the Doctor saying "Amy? Amy, did you even hear what I said?"
She felt bad when she saw his sad puppy-dog eyes looking down at her because he knew she hadn't been listening. She sighed.
"No, sorry. It's just so late and I haven't slept in over two days, so I'm just a bit tired. What were you saying?"
"It doesn't matter," the Doctor said, sulking. He turned around, and started to walk away, dejected.
"Oh, no you don't," Amy said, "Get back here right now." She stamped her foot and pointed at the spot where he had just been standing. He looked at her, decided it was best not to argue, and walked back towards her.
"Now, tell me what it was you were saying. I heard most of it, I just missed the last part." Amy still felt bad that she hadn't listened to what he had been telling her. He had seemed so excited too.
"It's just…..well," he looked at her sheepishly and held up the crumpled paper he was holding. On it was a picture of a bright red Fez. "I decided what I wanted for Christmas?" The last bit sounded like a question.
"Er, Doctor, that's great! Except for, you know, Christmas isn't for another few months. Well, inside the TARDIS that is. I guess it's Christmas somewhere….some time right now." She pondered that for a few moments.
"Exactly!" he exclaimed. "When you're a time traveler, it's always Christmas!" His excitement level had once again reached the level of a 5-year-old on a sugar rush. It sure doesn't take much to get him excited about something, Amy thought.
"O…kay then. So it's Christmas. But, Doctor, may I ask one thing?" He nodded enthusiastically. "Why would you want a Fez in the first place?"
"Oh Amy," The Doctor chided, "don't you know? Fezzes are Cool."
