Just a small drabble I found in one of my folders. Figured I'd post it.
Akutsu/Dan - Dan's thoughts about a certain silver-haired, violent tennis hater. May make sense, may not.
If someone had told you that Akutsu Jin had a soft spot for anything, you would probably have asked how they were feeling and whether they suffered from any recent head injuries.
If that same person had been insane enough to tell Akutsu, he'd beat them into the ground so hard that they'd never walk again, if they managed to regain consciousness at all, that is.
However, no matter how impossible it may have seemed, Akutsu does have a soft spot. Although, it can only really be called soft when compared with the rest of his antisocial personality.
It would take a skilled eye to see that no matter how harshly he yells at a certain black-haired kid, he never actually lays a hand on him, despite his hard-earned reputation for physical violence.
No one would blink twice at the sight of Akutsu picking a fight, although they might wonder at the reason behind the fight if his victims had been seen extorting a certain first-year's lunch. He would deny that there was anything behind the fight other than a senseless need for violence, of course.
At the end of the day, when all is said and done, it doesn't matter that Akutsu will never admit to what he considers to be a weakness. The smaller boy will continue to follow him around, knowing that his actions speak far louder than his words.
After all, -Dan smiled as he wrote the final sentence in his journal- if he changed, he wouldn't be the Akutsu Jin I know and love.
