Even though the diving bell was completely full of water and Hiccup had no more air to breath, Toothless did not stop trying to free him. He wasn't about to leave Hiccup to die.

Hiccup was losing consciousness as the ice cold water filled his lung. Toothless had stopped blasting long enough to make Hiccup was still okay The last thing he saw was Toothless trying to stop the charging Submaripper.

The sea dragon grabbed the diving bell and swam upward toward the longship. Toothless following close behind.

The now free Submaripper broke through the surface of the water dropping Hiccup and the diving bell that trapped him on to the deck of the ship.

"We need to get him out of there," Astrid ordered

"How?" Fishlegs inquired. "It's dragon-proof."

"We got this!" Tuffnut exclaimed as he ran over with a rod and shoved it through a crack in the metal. "Barf! Belch!"

The dragon twisted his necks, bit down on the rod and pulled downward until the diving bell opened up enough to free the dragon rider.

"Now pull him out. Quickly," Fishlegs instructed.

Astrid pulled him out and Fishlegs helped lay him on the deck. Hiccup laid still not breathing.

"Oh, no, Hiccup!" Astrid cried out. "Please, breathe. Please, breathe!"

Toothless gave Hiccup some light licks to his riders face, but nothing changed. The Night Fury paced around his rider trying to figure out what to do. He looked his chest then at his mouth. In that instant, an idea clicked.

The dragon pounced onto his rider's chest with his front paws, pushing down releasing the water from his lungs. Hiccup began to cough up the water that had been obstructing his airways.

The young Viking sat up and laughed lightly as Toothless hovered over him "No, I'm... okay bud."

Toothless turned and roared his thanks to the retreating Submaripper.

"What... happened?" Hiccup wondered as Astrid and Fishlegs helped him stand.

"Viggo happened," Snotlout answered.

"Viggo," Hiccup gasped as he swayed falling toward Toothless "No, no,... he can't... escape."

Fishlegs helped keep him steady "Easy, Hiccup. I got you."

"Don't worry," Astrid promised, "He won't get far."

Her, the twins and Snotlout flew off to deal with Viggo and his Hunters.

"I sh-sho-ould be going... with them," Hiccup insisted as he kept trying to get on Toothless.

"No, Hiccup," Fishlegs negated. "You just suffered a major shock to your body. You need to rest."

Fishlegs led him down to the lower deck where the captains quarters were. Toothless followed behind.

Hiccup didn't have the strength to protest. Fishlegs was right, he was in no shape to fly let alone fight the head of the Dragon Hunters.

"Let's get you into some dry clothes," Fishlegs suggested.

Hiccup simply nodded as he rubbed his arms trying to warm himself up. Søren that water was cold.

After getting changed into dry clothes, Fishlegs helped into the bed and covered him up a blanket. "Try to get some sleep, Hiccup."

Hiccup didn't say anything in reply as he was already sound asleep, despite how cold his body was.

Fishlegs left him alone with Toothless to watch over him.

Fishlegs went back up and watched as the other riders came back with looks of defeat.

"What happened?" the Gronkle lover asked.

"Viggo and Ryker escaped on a dinghy being pulled by Seashockers," Astrid reported as she dismounted. "Where's Hiccup?"

"He's below in the captain's quarters, resting," Fishlegs replied. "He's not looking too good. We need to get him back to Berk before fever sets in."

The dragons grabbed the ropes to carry the ship. Fishlegs and Astrid stayed on board to tend to Hiccup.
