"I just don't get it," Zac started. "It would be impossible for any human being to do all this and never get caught."
Zac was inches away from a string theory board, carefully studying it's every twist and turn. The board was smothered in photographs of people, buildings and what seemed like random objects.
Suddenly, a voice could be heard behind him
"It might not be human at all."
"Helpful. " Zac scoffed.
He turned his body towards the figure. They had smooth dark skin, a color only slightly more saturated than that of dark almonds. Their hair was charcoal, short and and was wrapped tight around their head. Their eyes stared blankly at Zac, they were large, glassy, brown eyes that seemed so dim, it appeared as though their eyes were dead.
"You're right. No one who would do this would be human. They have no humanity left, they've rejected any remorse they would otherwise feel. But they're mortal, they have physical limitations-" Zac was cut off by the figure picking up an object next to him.
"Have you thought, maybe…" the figure spoke in a mellow tone as they tapped on the firm object in their hand. The figure seemed to be holding a small, dark, leatherbound book with harsh chalk letters scrawled on the front.
Zac stood in a firm position, the gears in his head turning. "I'll admit it's crossed my mind. They're clever for staying hidden this long, but a bit naive for doing it in such a short amount of time."
Zac suddenly bolted up.
"Lcue, isn't there a transfer?"
Lcue sighed and looked at a nearby file cabinet.
"Second drawer, third folder under T," he muttered
Zac hurried towards the cabinet and hastily pulled open the door, shuffling through the folders until he held one up in triumph. He flipped through the contents while reading them aloud
"Turner, Kira. Second year student…he's been in at least three fights in the past year."
"So he's an aggressor?" Lcue asked "Would that explai-"
"No," Zac interrupted "I don't think he starts them, he's usually just wrapped up in them. Maybe he's being targeted."
-"Which would mean?"
"Snap." Zac made a motion similar to breaking a twig with his hands. "It would make sense that he wouldn't plan anything, he doesn't care."
Lcue jumped off the table he was lounging on and approached Zac.
"What are you waiting for? Kill him! You can stop it now and…"
"And what," Zac coldly said "We don't have enough evidence."
He sighed
"I'm not a murderer, Lcue."
"Zac," Lcue said in a bitter tone.
"Yes?"
"You're a jerk."
"I know."
AN: Hello! I'm being a bit retro with these authors notes, I know. I just wanted to explain some things. This is all for a small story I share with friends sometimes, which is called 'Spidernote.' I wanted to make sure that if my google doc was deleted or something, I would have backup. I also hope maybe someone will see the story and like it? Unlikely, but it's possible.
