Naruto coughed out blood and stared at his closest friend that he ever had in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Naruto knew this wasn't a dream; it was real. His friend was serious about killing him and Naruto could tell just by staring into his onyx eyes.
Naruto tried countless times to reason with him but nothing seemed to work and right now Naruto knew that he will never be able to reason with him anymore.
Naruto blinked back the tears that were threatening to show. The pain going through his chest where the katana was forced through was enough for Naruto to cough out a stream of blood.
Naruto couldn't move his arms or hands because he couldn't feel them anymore. The only thing Naruto had left was speaking.
"Sasuke…" Naruto whispered.
A flicker of happiness showed in the young Uchiha's eyes at hearing Naruto say his name but it quickly vanished.
"…"
"I was the one you wanted to kill besides your brother. You already killed him and now it's time for me to die as well, right?"
Sasuke didn't show any emotions of hearing Naruto say that. Naruto saw that his words were meaningless and pointless.
"My words were always meaningless to you. I can tell they still are. You are becoming just like Itachi."
Naruto saw Sasuke's eye twitch and he felt more pain as the katana was forced deeper inside of him.
"Your pain will never go away even if you destroy it. When I was hated by the village as a small child I knew then that pain wouldn't go away. I still feel that pain even if the villagers don't hate me anymore. I can tell you right now, Sasuke that pain like what you and me have will never go away even if we try really hard to destroy it. I know it now and so do you."
Naruto saw Sasuke's eyes soften and the next thing came as a surprise to Naruto. Sasuke had pulled him closer to him and the katana was even more forced through his chest and Naruto bit back the scream that was deep in his throat.
Sasuke came to Naruto's ear and whispered. "I'm not killing you because I need to. I'm killing you because I want you to be free from this pain that's trapped you and after you're dead I'll kill myself to free myself from the pain of the past. We'll both be free from our pain, Naruto."
Naruto glanced wide eyed at Sasuke and then he felt himself falling and he knew that it was time for him to die. The last thing he felt was Sasuke placing him on the ground gently.
