No Such Thing As Perfection
Chapter One: Introduction
"Hello? Anyone here?" Loretta looked around the horrible mess. It was even worse than Sam. Everything was almost pitch black, but Loretta could make out a few things. The trees were all dead, and burning to the ground. As Loretta walked around, one tree suddenly burst into flame, and crumpled to the ground.
"Hello?" she repeated, then she heard a slight moaning. She headed towards the voice, thought it was so muffled she couldn't hear what it was saying. Suddenly she saw a girl sitting against on of the trees, moaning and staring out into the horrible black sky. Cracks from the trees were bursting from the ground, and Loretta carefully stepped over them. Finally she could make out the voice.
"Nothing is going right. Everything's gone. Gone. Nothing's working...."
The girl turned toward Loretta, and she gasped when she saw the girl's face. It was the saddest face she had ever seen. It looked sad, angry, confused, tired, and scared all at the same time.
"Oh Lily." Loretta said, kneeling down near her to touch Lily's now horrible brown hair. Lily shivered when she felt herself being touched, and she kept on moaning. Loretta tried to get to the girl again.
"Lily, can you hear me? What's wrong?"
Lily kept on moaning, curling herself up into a small ball. Loretta tried shaking her, but she just moaned louder.
"Everything's gone."
"No it's not! Lily, please try to listen to me." Loretta stood it front of her, then she ran her hand down her arm, barly touching it Sparks came from her hands, and the gray, brown color of Lily's arm started to grow brighter, until it was normal color. Lily stared at her arm, as if blinded by the light. The light continued through her body, and the girl finally blinked at Loretta, even though she wasn't fully healed.
"What are you doing here?" she said in a slightly moaning voice.
"To fix you. Now, tell me what's wrong."
Lily looked around her destroyed mind, her eyes looking far off, seeing things Loretta couldn't. Loretta waved her hand to get her attention back, and she heaved in a sigh, much like a moan. She closed her eyes, leaning against the tree, just as one nearby burst into flame.
"It isn't right. I can't even cry anymore." Lily said, and her eyes did look very dry.
"What isn't right? What happened to you?"
The girl peered at Loretta, and stuck her hand through her body. Loretta stared at her, and she looked curiously at her hand. She looked back at Loretta's concerned face, then she let out another moan, and closed her eyes again.
"Lily, wake up! I'm here to fix you! You must tell me what's wrong!" Loretta was trying to find Lily's broken soul, but it wasn't as easy as Sam's guitar was. Sam had her guitar right in front of her. She didn't see anything in front of Lily.
"It's gone." she moaned.
"What's gone?"
Lily put her hand into her pocket, and she slowly took out a shattered and beaten clock. "Time."
(ok, so this is just the introduction to my story. Kinda short, but the rest will get longer. Enjoy!)
