A/N: So... it's been a while... written for the Halloween Drabble Challenge. Prompt: Black
Scorpius Malfoy did not like Halloween. His mates knew this. In fact, almost everyone in Hogwarts knew this. So how did Scorpius Malfoy end up on the decorating committee for the Halloween Costume party? Two words: Lily Potter. She had flounced up to him with that red hair and those big brown eyes and he just couldn't say no so here was, trying not to scowl when she looked his way. It was a fruitless cause. The black and orange decorations simply mocked him, reminding him of the things he was deprived as. No, it was not proper for a Malfoy to go trick-or-treating, Merlin forbid fun actually be involved. Instead, a Malfoy must stay in the manor, the candles casting orange light into the black shadows. Colours of deprivation. Scorpius shook his head. How he hated Halloween. Lily appeared behind him.
"Why the frown, Scor?"
Scorpius looked at her in alarm. The pumpkins watched him, grinning their black smiles.
"Frown? What frown?" He muttered nervously. Lily giggled, satisfied with his response. Scorpius watched as she skipped over to Lorcan Scamander. He grinned cockily at her, tapping his cheek as if expecting a kiss.
Scorpius mentally shot a curse at Lorcan and smirked when the Ravenclaw promptly vomited- on Lily's previously black shoes. The aforementioned girl hurried back over to his side, begging for his assistance.
"Oh, and Scor? I still need a date for the party…" Maybe Halloween wasn't so bad after all.
