I used to write only CSI stories, but the last few years I have fallen in love with Glee.
This story is the conversation between the girls in the restroom in Yes/No.
Who did you see?
"Come on girl, you have two guys who want to be with you. You should be happy and proud." Santana said walking over to Mercedes. "But with this ruined face you won't keep them." She put her arm around Mercedes hugging her. Tina and Rachel also stepped forward to hug Mercedes.
After they had sung 'The first time ever I saw your face', Mercedes had ran to the girls' restroom and told Santana, Rachel and Tina that she hadn't thought about her boyfriend but about Sam.
"Santana is right Mercedes. Lift your head and show them who you are: a fierce woman." Rachel said, reaching for the paper towels, wetting one and handing it to Mercedes.
"Who did you see?" Mercedes asked Rachel, looking at her: "Finn or Jesse?"
Rachel shrugged: "Finn of course. He was the one for me from the start. Jesse meant nothing in the end." Mercedes nodded, she had not expected anything else. Then she turned to Santana: "You?"
"Britt. She had such a beautiful, flirty smile, really cute." Santana smiled. Then she helped Mercedes with her mascara covered cheeks: "I don't think I have ever loved anyone else." She elaborated. The girls fell silent, each lost in their own thoughts. Thinking about the people they loved, so much it sometimes hurt.
Mercedes turned to Tina: "Who did you see Tina?" Santana and Rachel also turned to watch Tina. Tina looked Mercedes straight in her eyes: "Mike, our first date after we got back from Asian Camp. He had taken me to a park and we had the most amazing pick-nick. We talked, got to know each other better, made out and just laid together. It was so great." Tina immediately thought about that day again, she was called back to the present by Mercedes: "What about Artie?" Tina sighed, she hadn't really talked about it with her friends. "What I have with Mike is so different from what I had with Artie. I think I was in love with the idea of having a boyfriend and I thought Artie was the only one who could be interested in me in that way. Besides we were already friends. I think I wasn't really in love with Artie, I had a crush on him. But I love Mike, like really love him. If I'm with Mike the world is beautiful and I can do everything. He supports me in everything I do and I do the same for him. And yes sometimes we have disagreements, but we both want to work on them, talk about it, get the others perspective. We both fight for our relationship." Tina looked around and then simply said: "I love Mike, he's my first real love and I want him to be my last." Santana and Rachel nodded in understanding. Mercedes watched them: "I don't feel like that for Shane or Sam." She felt her eyes filling again. Tina touched her shoulder: "It's all still new to you. Believe me: I didn't feel like this last year, it has to grow."
"Tina is right, 'Cedes." Santana nodded, while Rachel said it.
"Come on 'Cedes, keep your head up. Just listen to your heart." Tina said before pulling Mercedes into a hug, Santana and Rachel came in and hugged her too. After a few moments they pulled back. Mercedes sniffled a little bit and then gave them a watery smile: "Thank you girls. Thank you for listening, I needed that."
"Anytime you need someone to listen, just say the word and we'll be there." Rachel said.
Putting their arms around each other, the four girls walked out of the bathroom.
