You were my secret, we didn't talk about each other to others
Afraid we would be torn apart, separated by people who thought they knew better
Our 'thing ' could never be...
I was your little 'hush-hush' as you liked to call it.
And you, my stranger, my friend, my beloved, always watching from the sidelines.
Waiting for a chance to catch me alone.
We couldn't have been more different;
I was just 21, you were just past 100
You were more dead than me, and I more alive
But joined together we were the same
Daylight could/should not find out about us.
We were everything God forbad

I still remember that night though,
You came in through the window, silently as a predator creeping up its prey
You had your ways like that,
And I... almost a sleep, curled up beneath the warmth of my sheets.
Unknowing of what was about to unfold
