This story was written for Eclipses Riddle in the March Exchange.
I've considered writing you some Black siblings Angst as well though in the end I decided on this little idea I've had for a while now. I hope you enjoy it!
"Come on, Victoire, more emotions. Your character is deeply in love with Teddy's character and they are about to be separated for the first time ever. You're upset, you're scared. Let us see your full potential, dear."
Victoire huffed at their theatre coach. "Don't ever call me 'dear' again, Sir." she said before taking a deep breath and turning back to Teddy, taking in his appearance.
He looked so different than usually. Gone were the messy strands of blue hair that she had come to love. With the black wig, the glasses and a suit, he reminded her more of his godfather.
"I'm ready." she smiled slightly at her best friend, who had been watching her with curiosity, wondering if he had something on his face.
He had caught Victoire looking at him more than once in the last few weeks and he had yet to find out what that was supposed to mean. Right now though, he didn't have the time.
The young man readied himself and nodded, signalling that they could start the scene.
"I don't know what I should do without you, Ben." Victoire whispered, forcing tears into her eyes as she walked towards her scene partner.
"Jessica, this... us..." Teddy responded, "We are infinite. We will always find a way."
The young woman took his hands, her small pale ones fitting perfectly into his.
"I'll always wait for you, Ben," taking another step further, Victoire almost lost herself in her friend's beautiful eyes. She needed to be careful so that a wrong name wouldn't slip from her lips.
"Just promise me.." she mumbled, their faces only inches apart, "promise me, whatever you do, come home. You need to come back to me."
Their breath mingled together as her eyes fluttered shut. They both felt connected to one another, wanted to finally close the distance.
"Great work! Well done!" a loud voice interrupted them, causing the two teenagers to practically jump apart, both blushing furiously.
Their coach was beaming as he applauded them.
"That was amazing. Honestly, if I didn't know that this was a play, I'd think you two are in love," he chuckled quietly, amused by the whole outcome of the situation. "Now, you two are excused for about fifteen minutes while we do a different scene. Be back punctual, we'll need to try how the other scenes work for you two, especially the ones which involve kissing."
Teddy felt his heart race as he simply nodded, his breathing still a bit uneven. He had never experienced such a thing before.
His eyes met Victoire's and the young actor immediately knew that she had felt the same. He tentatively held out his hand to her, a shy smile on his lips.
"You.. Well, you know.. We could.. We could always practise? Those scenes, I mean?" he asked her, causing her to let out a small, relieved laugh.
"You know what?" she asked him, a smile on her lips, "That is an amazing idea. We should do that."
