It was a very bitter winter.

A fresh blanket of the whitest snow had fallen on a small park on the far side of town. It was a quiet, long abandoned and lonely park and a place a certain big hearted letter bee took pity on.

On his usual lunch break, Lag and his dingo sat on a metal bench, eating bread from a local bakery. For a drink, the two just ate the snow but Niche just couldn't understand how this white stuff that fell from the sky could hydrate them.

Today was Christmas day so all the letter bees were quite busy. As a very angry Zazzie explained, everyone wanted to send Christmas presents to all thier distant family members and by everyone he really ment everyone. Seriously, he thought every letter bee be this busy for the next three weeks.

It was a peaceful moment.

"Lag!" Niche started suddenly, her mouth full of bread "Niche likes this! Niche wants this bread everyday!".

"Yah, I like it, to!" Lag smiled.

But suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure.

He twisted his head around and drew in a sharp breath. With his hand on his gun, he breathed "Noire...?".

Niche immediately went on offense. Off in the nearby trees, they saw the letter thief's dark figure, his gun also in hand.

This was terrible and the last thing they needed. It was bad enough when he stole the letters on any other day but this was THE day! This was Christmas day and that meant it was twice as important!

Noire got closer and Lag backed up.

"I-I won't let you take them!" Lag protested nervously.

But Noire just got closer.

"I-I-I'm serious!" Lag aimed his gun at him.

But he just got closer.

Now he was right in front of him and Lag was about to fire. But suddenly, Lag felt a warm hand atop his cold head. It was almost as though he was frozen with shock. Then, with a soft grunt, Noire put three small decorated packages on the bench. He then turned around to leave with his usual slow stride.

It took several moments before Lag was able to compute and even more to move and when he did, he went straight to the packages. At first he thought they might be bombs or something bad, but he was wrong.

The first package was labled Lag Seeings and inside was a pretty little glow in the dark rock.

The second one was labeled Dingo and held two simple white socks.

The last one was the biggest and was labeled Sylvette. Inside that was a lovely little pearl braclet.

Lag was at a loss for words. He just turned to the letter thief, but suddenly, found his words again.

"Wh-What is THIS?!" He cried, big gloppy tears already forming in his eyes.

Noire stopped momentarily. And then he said it. "Merry Christmas, Lag Seeings."

And just like that, huge waterfalls of mucus and tears were running down his face.

"Wait! Wait!" Lag trudged through the snow after him and when he caught up, he presented him with the rest of the bread loaf " Thank you, and here! Merry Christmas to you, to Gau- I mean Noire!".

There were no robberies that day and the chill faded, making it a cozy winter. Lag will probably never understand why he did that that day, whether it was to break free of thier current constantly hostile and akward relationship or someone else, but all Lag knew that if he thought about it too long, he began to cry his eyes out.
