"Ya'know, this is kind of… comical?" Tony side-glanced at his lover, who didn't flicker his gaze from where it was trained.
"Oh really." Gibbs replied, rather absentmindedly. Tony pouted, slouching with a leg stretched out, which he leaned on, and hands on his hips. Kate used to call that his 'Pouting Pose'. He used to say he didn't pout, and deny it. Whoa boy, He thought, Waaaay off track. He straightened his posture and agreed with both himself and his boss.
"Yeah. Because… we're here… and we're there, too! It's like the Butterfly Effect almost!" He laughed. Gibbs turned to him, eyes sharp and piercing. Tony's laughter fell from his lips with a lifeless hitch.
"Wha…?" He mumbled when Gibbs stalked up to him, stopping an inch away from his lips, enough that they almost brushed against each other.
"You think us being dead is 'funny', DiNozzo?" His 'Guess what! I'm the boss and you listen to me' voice exuded clearly through his husky tone, making him all that more intimidating. Tony shifted, his eyes never leaving Gibbs' as he swallowed hard. Finally, he mustered up his courage and will, averting his eyes to the tombstone, wind worn with years of age on it. He read,
"Leroy J. Gibbs, 1899 – 1945, died with pride and dignity for his country in Iwo Jima. Semper fidelis." He turned to the one next to it.
"Anthony M. DiNozzo Jr. 1910 – 1945. Died along side his Gunnery Sgt. Semper fidelis." The words died on his lips as he finished, looking down at the grave. He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to it, his eyes foggy.
"Why did you bite me?" Tony asked, voice thick. Gibbs rolled his eyes.
For the reason I still keep you with me." He said, and Tony's face spread out like a wing in a smile. Love. He turned to both tombstones, and saluted, his body structure straight and full of dignity. He heard a quick rustle in a signal that Gibbs was also saluting. In unison, they pulled their hands down and Tony turned to Gibbs, a smirk playing on his lips.
"So… what did you have planned before we rudely interrupted ourselves?" He asked. The older vampire grinned, his fangs gleaming as he did.
"Let's find out." Tony couldn't hide the shudder that ran up his spine with pleasure. As they made their leave, he looked over his shoulder one more time to see the tombstone, and smiled. Semper Fi.
