A small drabble. Likely the first of a few, mostly to compel me to get back to letting my writings be seen. Reviews are welcome.

Streetlights glinted like stars on the streets of Konoha, tracing a web across the city like a constellation. The light of dusk was hanging across the sky though the sun had fallen long before. She sat on the head of the hokage mountains watching the city slowly darken and then light again with an unnatural glow. The wind was dying down, though it had already teased her cherry pink hair into a mess. Noting the time, she pulled a small travel hairbrush and smoothed her hair into something more manageable.
Moments later she felt a chakra coming behind her and soft footprints approaching.
"Sakura! I didn't think you would still be here.''
Sakura turned her head as a coat was placed over her shoulders, surprised when it was his Hokage robe. He sat next to her and she leaned onto his shoulder and into his arms.
"I always wait for you. And I always will, Naruto."
He squeezed her for a moment, but did not say anything. She understood. He had so many of his dreams come true in the last few years that some things still choked him up.
A few minutes passed before he spoke, 'I got word from Shikamaru in Suna. Him and Temari are going to tie the knot. He said that she's going to come here as an ambassador. Their eldest is excited, but he's not sure that she knows what she's excited about.
'I also have the paperwork about Hizashi Hyuuga. He's definitely his parents child. He's applying to go to the ninja academy in the new semester.'
Sakura was surprised at this. 'Two years ahead of schedule? Neji and Tenten must be proud.'
'Or rather at their wits end. I remember Neji mentioning that the problem with prodigy's was trying to keep them occupied and challenged.'
Sakura laughed at this. 'Children are a blessing, are they not?'
Naruto smiled at this. A full toothed grin. 'Yeah, after that last war here I wasn't sure we'd really recover. Who wants to bring children into a broken village?'
She swatted his arm playfully. 'You kept everyone's spirits up so high it's a wonder anyone even noticed the village was damaged. Besides, you love children. Don't you want your own children to be running through these streets someday?'
He turned slightly and his hold on her tightened fractionally. 'Nothing in this world would give me greater pleasure than my children running through these streets.'
She pulled away from him, wrapping the coat around her tighter to keep his warmth. Pulling her knees under her she knelt in front of him and took his hands. Sakura could see the love shining in his eyes, even in the dim light. There was another light beneath that and she knew it was hope. 'I hadn't wanted to tell you until I confirmed it with Tsunade. I'm pregnant, Naruto. You're going to be a father!'
She could see the emotions warring in his eyes. And on his face, gaping like a fish. Sakura braced herself as he 'whooped' jumping up and swinging her around. 'We're having a baby? I can't believe it! A baby!' He looked startled after a few moments and set her back on the ground. 'Oh god, did I hurt you? Are you okay?'
Sakura laughed and threw her arms around him. 'I'm fine! We're going to have a baby!' She felt his arms fold her in and his face bury into her neck. She understood his sentiment. Their lives had taken so many a strange turn, and neither had truly believed they'd ever be in this position.
As they turned to walk home in the dark they both reflected on the treacherous path that led them to this point and how they would not change a thing.
