Goren woke up from his slumber, confused to why there was a weight on his chest. He suddenly heard a soft sigh, making him look down. Oh, that makes sense.
Eames shifted on his chest as she slept, making Goren smile. He still couldn't believe that this woman, his partner of 12 years, is in a relationship with him now.
His life and childhood was living hell. So many things happened to him, making him put so many barriers around him, making him have trust and anger issues. His father, mother, Frank, Brody and the Gage's; they made his life imploded at the worst times. But he escaped from their influences, not unscathed , but damaged.
Eames broke through his barriers, helping him keep grounded and same. Her snarky attitude and her sharp wit always kept him on his toes. She was just as smart as him, which made their partnership compatible and respectable. For god sakes, he the only partner he had that actually tolerated him!
She even sacrificed her career for him, firing him that day and then giving up her badge for him. They were both lucky to come back to Major Case, it gave them a second chance, in more ways then one.
Goren smiled as he slowly stroke her hair, taking in her sleeping form. Eames moans and opens her eyes, seeing a smiling Goren looking at her, which made her smile as well.
"What is it?" she asked with a whisper.
His smile broadened as he looked at her and held her closer.
"I was just thinking how precious you are to me."
AN: A small drabble with my favorite couple in crime series. OMG, WHY DIDNT THEY GET TOGETHER? They totally belong to each other! Anyway, a sweet moment between them. I don't own Law and Order and comments are loved!
