Okay, I wrote this story a couple of years ago and I DECIDED that I should post it. Don't know why though! Anyway, I hope you like it! Read and Review!
This is it. I'm going back to Rome. The place where I first kissed him. Except this time . . . I'm going back without him. Isabella had asked me to come visit after I told her what happened. We had kept in touch. But what had happened to him was so fast. I mean he was just driving to the Digital Bean to meet Miranda and me. When a drunk driver came up and ran into him back on. He went over the bridge. The driver was okay. But of course it was Gordo that got killed. Although I know he would have been glad that no one else had gotten hurt. When Miranda and I found out we were still waiting at the Digital Bean. Wondering why he was taking so long. Our parents came in and told us. They had told us that Gordo had died from a car accident caused by a drunk driver. . . . Dead. Gordo was dead. Those words kept ringing in my ears. After that I kept screaming his name and couldn't believe it was true. How could he die? He was only seventeen years old. We had so many plans. That summer after graduation we had planned to take Miranda to Rome. I never actually took in that he was dead until the funeral. But even then I couldn't believe it. I half expected him to come knocking on my door and tell me he was on a trip. But of course it would never happen. Not in a million years. So here I am. Going back to Rome. Or as Gordo would say " La Citta Eterna". Ha! He picked it up from Mrs. Ungermeyer.
Memories. All those memories are lying within Rome. I wish Miranda was here. But she couldn't stand it. She could barely come to his funeral. She thinks I'm the bravest person for coming back to Rome with all those memories about our trip. Oh! The plane is landing. My mom and dad are with me. So is Matt. I've been listening to Isabella's new album. She sent it to me. (walking down the walkway to the building) What are all those lights? Oh of course it must be Isabella. Yep there she is.
"Lizzie!" Isabella said with her strong Italian accent.
"Isabella how are you?"
"Fine. And once again I'm very sorry about Gordo." She said.
She'd told me that many times in her letters.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Are you doing okay with it?" she asked.
"No not really." I answered truthfully. "But I will be." I finished smiling.
"Good. You'll make it. I know you will you are very strong." She grinned.
"Thanks."
"Well, if you and your family are ready then I suggest that we go find adventure. Once again in Roma." Isabella said smiling.
"Let's" I replied. I was ready. Isabella was right. I am strong. That's what Grodo always told me.
Isabella has asked me to perform with her once again. I said yea. Yes, for Gordo.
"Come Lizzie." Isabella waving for me.
"Coming" I smiled because I knew that right there and then Gordo was looking down on me and smiling too.
Very short story! But there you go. Sappy ending don't you think? Anyway, hope you liked it!
