This is just a short one-shot I wrote between classes in school, so it's nothing really big. I hope you enjoy it anyway.

People frequently ask why I came all the way from America to go to boarding school. To that, I usually reply with something along the lines of "Because I got a scholarship and it seemed like a great opportunity." but that's only half the story. I came to England to start over, to wipe the slate clean, to become a better person. At my school in America, I wasn't really known for the best reasons. Actually, I was surprised when I learned my application had been accepted, I mean, I didn't really have the best track record.
I did a lot of bad things back then. Bad things that I wish I hadn't done and wholly regret. I was one of those people who hung out with the trouble-makers. I was a shoplifter, I smoked, and I drank too. Surprising, huh. I didn't really skip school, though. I mean, I had to give my parents at least a little reason to be proud of me. That's how I got the scholarship, and that's when Gran told me it was time for a change. I agreed.
It was hard breaking my old habits, and before I even left America I had started to slowly fall back into a couple of them. Gran didn't know. Then I arrived at Anubis House, and I met you. I knew you'd never fall for the girl I had been. You gave me a reason to change. It wasn't easy, but seeing you everyday helped me immensely, and you never even knew how much you were helping me. You're the reason I am who I am today, Fabian. Without you, I probably would have never followed through on my promise to Gran. Without you, I wouldn't be the Nina everybody here knows. That's why I'm thanking you Fabian, for making me a better person.
Like I said, short. I am however working on a bigger House of Anubis fic in my spare time, and I do have a link to an OC application form on my profile concerning that fic.
