A fair. That's where they were. A fair. The group of friends had decided to go to there a week ago when they heard that one was being set up on the fair grounds. Lenalee had mentioned it, she loved that sort of thing. She always liked seeing all of her friends light up in happiness at the simplest things (except for Kanda), and a carnival was the perfect thing.
Lenalee's brother drove them to the fairgrounds, then the two siblings went off on their own because Lenalee wanted to play the games first. Allen and Kanda decided to ride the tilt-a-whirl, well...Kanda mostly just followed his little Moyashi with a neutral look as Allen was really excited to ride it. Lavi on the other hand went to the booths. He was always interested in them. There were the strangest things at fairs.
As he passed booths he read the signs. He read the colorful, swirly signs that advertised attractions (ex. World's Largest Snake! World's Smallest Man! World's fattest Giraffe!). He read blocky signs with red and blue font advertising food combinations and fried things (ex. fried oreos, fried bacon, fried Doritos, fried donuts, fried cakes). Hand made signs with vibrant markers and glitter, pointing into little booths selling hand crafts and advertising local businesses. He loved those signs.
Lavi passed animal exhibits, animal contests, pools, candy shops, rides, and environmental exhibits. He smiled as he watched kids run and yell and laugh. He glanced over to where he saw a lot of girls crowding. Tyki Mikk stood in the center of them, charming them with suave words and a flashy smile. Tyki glanced in Lavi's direction and smiled, he waved and called him over, but Lavi didn't want to go over there. If he was going to speak with Tyki, his crush, he wanted to do so where he wasn't going to be torn apart by the competition.
Instead, the redhead smiled softly, waved, and turned away. Lavi walked on to a stand selling cotton candy. He ordered some, making sure it was the blue kind, and sat down at a picnic table by himself. After a few minutes, someone sat across the table from him, but Lavi wasn't watching. He was too focused on his sweet.
A smooth voice spoke up, "Why didn't you come over?"
"Why would I?" Lavi asked, taking a bite of his candy as he looked up at Tyki.
"Because I wanted to talk to you."
"Why would you want to do that? With so many cute girls around you," Lavi responded, jealous of the girls.
Tyki smirked, "Why wouldn't I, Lovely? You're so much cuter."
"St-stop it!" Lavi pinkened, "You're an idiot." The redhead ate the cotton candy quickly, bits of it sticking to his face. He managed to wipe most of it off, but some stuck.
"No I'm not. You missed a spot." Tyki leaned across the table top and grabbed Lavi's chin, pulling the other across to meet him in the middle. A slow lick to the cheek made the boy with green eyes stop squirming, he stopped dead. "Sweet," Tyki muttered huskily.
"T-" Lavi began, but was cut off by a pair of lips. A pair of lips that promptly pushed Lavi's apart into an open-mouth kiss. Lavi leaned into it, smiling ever so slightly.
When they parted, Tyki smiled at him guiltily, "Sorry about that."
"You don't have to apologize," Lavi said quietly, completely red. "But, uh, how about a bit more help?" He puckered his lips, looking at Tyki meaningfully. Lavi was glad he was a messy eater if that was what it got him.
