Title: And Still She Let Go
By: everlastingxwish
A/N: I'm so so so so so so so so sooooooooo sorry everyone for not updating recently! TT. Seriously! So this is just a little fic to keep you guys entertained (for three seconds, sadly) while I…try to get my butt to work on my other fanfics. Enjoy!
And Still She Let Go
Cold wind blew, and she knew, as the green, green leaves of Konohakagure swirled around her, bathing her in their warm embrace. This was home to her. Was it home to him?
"You're…leaving, aren't you?" She asked faintly.
He looked at her coldly, surveying her with emotionless onyx eyes.
It didn't make a difference anyway, wouldn't it—if he left, and if he didn't? And if she tried to stop him, and she didn't?
No, it didn't, Sakura decided. Nothing mattered. Nothing made a difference to Uchiha Sasuke.
But she loved him anyway.
Would that make a difference…perhaps…? Love? The different kind of love his former family had given him, but love nonetheless?
Something flickered to life inside of her, at the bottom of her heart. It was hope, and it was supposed to be—supposed to, dammit!—but it wasn't enough. Not enough. Never enough. Not enough to shake Uchiha Sasuke, and nothing ever was, wasn't it? Except for that…that stupid revenge.
"And you do know…I love you?"
He just nodded.
Life just wasn't fair, wasn't it, Sakura? It was just her luck that Uchiha Sasuke wanted revenge on her traitor brother, and she hated him for that. She so direly hoped that Itachi would just go off and commit suicide on his own, or maybe that the Uchiha family would be alive, and no one would have any revenge to worry about, or Sasuke just ignore everything—but that would be selfish. Deathly selfish.
Sakura chuckled dryly. Everything was about death. Life was the game of survival, wasn't it? And hadn't Sasuke meant to tell her that all along? (Wasn't it ironic how she had just realized it, realized it the last second when he was about to leave?)
He just grunted, a sound between a snort of contempt, and just a grunt. "You're being selfish and immature, Sakura. Grow up." And he looked away from her.
You're weak.
She could tell he was sneering.
Emotions were weakness. And she was weak.
It all came down to that.
She was weak. She was weak little whiny Sakura with the pink hair who was snobby with Yamanaka Ino, best friends yet best enemies, fighting for the same heartthrob of their year. But no. She would prove them.
She would prove it to everyone.
She knew she loved him. Loved him until her heart ached, her ribs were willing to crack, and she would die for him, give him anything, anything anything anything anything—
She loved him so much, but she knew, knew that she would have to do it, sooner or later. She'd rather do it now.
She loved him, and still she let go.
A tear slipped from her eye.
And he left.
A/N: So how did it go? Not too bad, I hope. So…I'll be uploading the next chapter in Ying Yang soon, my favorite project! Shh…don't tell…P I was kinda listening to Because of You by Kelly Clarkson while I was writing this, and if you haven't downloaded/bought Breakaway, Kelly's newest album yet, YOU SHOULD! (I did not just say downloaded. I said bought, right? Yeah. Buy it!) Review please!
Lotsa Love,
