Enjolras was desperate, he could feel the revolution slipping through his fingers at every passing moment. He had sacrifice so much in the name of his motherland, his spare time, the ties with his family, and last but more important her.
It had started like a silent challenge between them. Éponine and him had obviously laid well constructed walls around each one, they had done it for different reasons, she didn't want to get hurt and he didn't want to get distracted. So trying to break the others protection had proveen to be the best challenge they have ever encounter, they did it mostly for the fun the thrill of knowing which one was stronger, who can endure more. But weeks passed, months even and they found that the walls they have keept to protect each other in the end had been their doom. While trying to win their silly bet they found confort and love in the most unexpected place.
They had feel so much for each other, however they failed to bring words into it. All the passion, lust and love had been silently feel inside their hearts. The only way it was expressed was on silent nights where everything was tangled limbs with moans and hushed prayers.
The first time Enjolras realized he could never go on without her, was when he awoke up with the brunette carefully wrapped around his arms for the first time. At that moment he finally learned that no one, not even his love for revolution or a new political system could match the satisfaction of being sure of her safety near him.
The moment he watch her die was his breakpoint, every woman and man that grase the earth has an epiphanie meant to change his life forever, and for the marble leader of the revolution watching the only girl that had managed to break the steel that guarded his heart was his.
He clutched her almost lifeless body without caring who could be watching he let his eyes express the despair of his soul. He knew in that moment that not matter if the revolution rised or burned he had no path to follow. With his lips on her lips and all les amis surrounding the couple while hiding tears of their own known he whispered as his voice cracked "I love you, I love you, I love you. Like never before"
He gently closed her eyes after she gave her last breath, not only revolution had taken the only girl he could ever love but it had taken his only chance to be happy. Taking the gun from his belt he mentally promised himself that even if it was considered a sin, he would not live to see another dawn without his Éponine.
A/N: OK, this is a little sad but I can't find the inspiration to write something of more happier notes, I'm working in other drabbles so you'll be hearing more of me in the next week. I hope you enjoy this and please remember if you leave something on my ask I'll happily write a drabble out of it.
