=/\= It's Paramounts. No fancy disclaimer this time.
I don't usually do anything that can be considered _anything_ to do with an episode addition, but this time, I just have to.
An addition of sorts to 30 days. You have to have seen that to understand this.
Days After
Janeway came to see me when I was in the brig. I was surprised to see her; she entered the brig, and the cell. They hadn't even let B'Elanna into the cell.
She sat down next to me, and said she was sorry for what'd happened. I looked at her; I didn't understand how she could do something if she was sorry for doing it in the first place.
Janeway said that she'd come to see me as my friend, not my Captain.
I asked her if there was a difference.
She looked hurt, as if she'd been asked this too many times, and all with the same result.
Janeway merely nodded, and said in a hushed voice that there was a difference. That she hoped I could see it.
Sure, I'd seen it before. When everyone'd gathered in someone's quarters, talking till it was almost time to go on duty, or in the holodeck, in Sandrines', when she gambled with us, and beat us all.
But I couldn't see it here.
I told her, they she was my commanding officer.
She just nodded in understanding, and said that sometimes, you just can't be friends.
I wished I was blind to the way she seemed to slump on the bench beside me, or the way she kept, staring, not saying anything.
She laughed slightly, and stood up, saying that she understood completely.
Then she left, and my cell seemed to cling to a sense of lifelessness, as if her absence had given notice to a void in her wake, one that I hadn't noticed was there before she came.
The next time I saw her, she was in the mess hall with Seven, they were arguing over some astrophysics matter.
Janeway looked at me, and her eyes seemed to see straight through me.
She nodded, and smiled slightly.
"It's good to have you back, Mr. Paris."
Somehow, I know she was lying.
