I was not jealous of Chloe and wolf boy. Really, I wasn't. They were completely dysfunctional, they always fought, and they had no idea what to do with each other. But yet...they were head over heels for one another.

But I was not jealous.

"Yes, you are," Simon said when I told him. "Come on, you won't practice on anyone else but Chloe in our self defense lessons. Which keeps her away from Derek. You drag her to the mall at least once a day. Which keeps her away from Derek."

"She is my friend, dumbass." Chloe and I have come a long way since Lyle House.

"Exactly."

I glared at him. "You know what? I have to go-"

"Hang out with Chloe?" He grinned at me.

I flipped him off and headed to study. I turned the knob and walked in. "Hey, Chloe, I – oh, God!" Chloe was lying on the couch with Derek attacking her neck. "Ugh!" I turned quickly, slamming the door behind me.

I heard Derek growl and mutter something unintelligible under his breath. Then Chloe's voice floated down the hallway, "I promised her we'd go shopping today. I must've lost track of time while we were – well..."

I heard a rumble that somewhat resembled words, a giggle, and then the door opened. Derek gave Chloe a kiss on the head and showed me his signature glare as he pushed past me.

Chloe smiled shyly, her cheeks flushed. "Sorry about that."

"I'll be fine." I said. "I'm only slightly traumatized."

Her smile widened and she started pulling on her jacket. I stopped her. "No. We can go tomorrow. Spend some time with your boyfriend."

She looked at me. "A-are you sure? I mean-"

"Yeah, go. I'm tired anyway, so I'm just going to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow."

I turned over in my bed and sighed when I looked at the clock. 5:00 AM. My stomach growled as I slowly padded my way downstairs, trying not to wake anyone up. As I reached the end of the stairs I heard a giggle coming from the living room. I leaned over and looked.

Chloe and Derek were sitting on the sofa. Chloe in Derek's lap, his arms wrapped around her. They were both smiling. Derek was whispering something in her ear. Her smile grew and her eyes were filled with trust and love.

Ugh. It's disgusting. I silently fake gagged and went back to my room, throwing the pillow over my face.

"Tori?"

I shot up and saw Chloe at our door. I laid back down. "Hey."

"Derek heard you. I just thought I'd come up and bring you some food." She held up a plate with two pizza slices on it. I sat up again and motioned for her to sit next to me.

"Thanks." I said as I started nibbling at a piece of pepperoni.

Chloe nodded and crossed her legs. "You're up early. Couldn't sleep?"

I nodded.

"Anything you want to talk about?"

I shook my head.

"Okay."

"Simon says that I'm jealous of your relationship with Derek."

Chloe blinked. "Simon is just messing with you."

I nodded again. Was I jealous? It almost felt like it. Almost. But I couldn't possibly jealous of-

I was envious. Their relationship was completely unplanned and came at the wrong time but they still managed. You didn't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that those two care for each other more than anything. They weren't even looking for something and they found it. And here I was living with people that could barely tolerate-

"Tori?" Chloe said, ripping me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"So shopping tomorrow? Didn't you say you need more shirts?"

I smiled. "Yeah, sounds good."
