PROLOGUE:
It was a quiet evening. The night had fallen, and darkness had swept serenely across the land, a gentle breeze chilling the nerves of those who passed by. It would have been a peaceful night-
But I can't rest until I make sure the Sol Emeralds are safe!
Two swift feet darted across the ground, stirring up a small cloud of dust briefly as they went. The pink and white-strapped high-heeled shoes skidded to a halt suddenly. Two blazing golden eyes looked up furiously at an old man with a huge broom of a mustache.
"Hey, you! You mustached old man."
The old man turned around in his hovercraft to stare curiously at the lavender-purple cat girl glaring at him from below.
"I've finally caught up with you," continued the cat girl. "What have you done with the Sol Emeralds?"
A malicious grin spread across the old man's face. He held out a gleaming, rectangular purple Emerald. "Heh, heh, heh. You mean these little beauties?"
The cat stared back, stunned to see the old man had it. Then anger flushed over her face. "You fool! Don't you realize the danger of allowing those Emeralds to rest in the wrong hands? You could bring chaos and destruction to us all!"
The old man sniggered. "Precisely, my dear. Now scat, cat!"
Fire began to blaze inside the cat's palms. "Hmm. I see you like to play with fire." She ran forward at the old man, leaping up at him, intending to singe that repulsive mustache he seemed to pride himself on. "Let me light up your fingers, then!"
The old man simply chuckled. A force field suddenly appeared around the hovercraft he was in. The cat girl hit it roughly and bounced backward. She tumbled to the ground.
"Ugh." She sat up and shook her head. "I... I'm not through with you yet! Hand the Emeralds over peacably and there won't be any need to raise any flames."
"They are my means to ultimate power. Do you truly think I'm just going to hand them over to you?" the old man snapped. "No way. You can just run along home now, and count on you and the rest of your world's sudden doom."
"I don't think so! Hah!" The cat hurled herself one last time at the old man's hovercraft. He simply dissuaded her with another forcefield block, and she bounced back to the ground.
"If you want them, come and save them," the old man cackled. "HOH HOH HOH HOHHHH!" Suddenly he lifted all seven of the Sol Emeralds. The inside of the gems began to glow with magnificent power.
"No!" The cat girl shrieked. A white light began to engulf her and the old man. She tried to rush forward to intercept the rotund radical, but the brightness was overcoming her. She fell backward, squeezing her eyes shut in pain. It was too late.
Chaos Control had ensued.
