Standard disclaimer… I know nothing, I own nothing. Thanks to the writers of Criminal Minds for the loan of their quote and characters.

As I was writing this- Come What May from the Moulin Rouge album was playing in the background, and if you give the song a few seconds to get into before you start reading you'll experience what I did. Greatness!

After the episode Elephant's Memory.

"I know it's none of my business, but when we land I think you should go and, uh, catch the rest of that movie."- Hotchner.

As Reid steadied himself to get off the plane with Prentiss and Morgan in front and Hotchner and Rossi behind him, he looked down the stairs to the tarmac.

There she stood.

And he could feel the difference inside him. The calm, no longer lonely feeling had him walking down the stairs and across the tarmac.

Standing a foot away from her he drops his satchel and says hi, almost in a whisper, and holds out his hands in front of him- palm up to her, waiting for her to tell him it is okay and he's home. Instead of reaching for his hands, she reaches higher and slides her palms over his neck and around his back until her arms are wrapped entirely around him and their pressed so tightly together they can feel each other's heartbeats.

"Why are you here?" He whispers in her ear, trying to pull her closer.

"You needed me, I came", was all she replied with.

Behind him his team had stopped still watching the normal stoic Dr Reid wrap himself around this shadowed blonde woman none had met before.

They continued watching as she slowly wrapped her legs around his waist as he span her in a single circle ever so slowly.

***

"Let's go home" he whispers to her once again and puts her back on her feet.

Together they leave, hands grasped tightly, leaving the team behind for tonight.

Explanations can wait, for tonight all he needed was her and a reminder that there was love and hope.

***

Later that night found him giving her everything he had. He returns everything she gives him.

The want and need in his kisses.

The patience and devotion with his fingers.

The love and willingness in their pace.

Content for now- this was all he needed- this was a reminder.

And hope for tomorrow.
