Victoire felt her stomach clench. For the first time since school had finished she would have to see Teddy. Normally they were inseparable all summer. However she hadn't answered his texts or IM's nor had she let him inside when he had come to the door of Shell Cottage. She had even tried to fake sick so that her mum would let her escape the fate she was sure to face if she came. However that was a little difficult as she was living in the newly renovated Burrow. It had grown in height, with two floors being added now that all the Weasley grandchildren were old enough to stay over. The reason for her discomfort? The train back from Hogwarts. - "Teddy, I'm going to miss you so much next year." Victoire pouted as wisps of her hair an hair fell into her eyes. Teddy was sitting on one of the cushioned benches and she was laying across his lap, her legs on the bench. "I'll miss you too Vicka." Teddy sighed as his long fingers played with her hair. "I just fe like such a kid you know." She gave a light Weasley blush. "I can tell you right now that you're not a kid." Teddy looked away as she fidgeted on his lap. "What's that supposed to mean?" Toire asked, a smirk on her lips as she teased him. "You're not exactly a little girl Vicka." Teddy said uncomfortably. "Soon I'm going to find it difficult to chase boys away - you'll want them around." Victoire laughed. "I don't want all the boys." "Who do you want then?" Teddy asked, eager to see who his best friends crush was. "… you." Victoire said hesitantly before pressing a kiss to his lips. In shock she had gasped at her stupidity. The train had pulled up and she had kissed him. While Toire had harbored a crush on him for ages, she had never planned on doing anything about it, especially when it was extremely likely to harm their friendship. She had grabbed her trunk and run off, not even saying goodbye to Teddy, who stood in shock. - Now she gulped nervously as she got ready to downstairs. It was Uncle Harrys and 'Professor' Longbottoms birthday and as such a cause for celebration. She had braided her hair in a French braid to one side and was in a black cocktail dress that was long and tight at the top and strapless and pushup. Aunt Ginny had done her makeup while telling her stories about going the Yule Ball and how she had been with Neville. Descending the stairs with Ginny behind her, she knew Teddy was in the room automatically. Sure enough she saw a head of Potter hair in black with tinged of Weasley red spread through it lightly. And as she put her last foot on the ground floor of the Burrow, Teddy whipped around. His face lit up at the sight of her and his hair tinged yellowy. "Vic." He cried out, not even bothering to excuse himself from Aunt Audrey and Uncle George (who he had been talking to about the Auror department) as he grabbed her arm and led her out into the garden. To her surprise he led her to under a giant tree where the sunlight shimmered through the leaves, creating tiny patterns on the grass through shadows. Vic and Teddy had once spent a whole day out here. she had laid her head on his lap and he had read in mocking voices stories of their parents and Quidditch players and socialites. "Teddy …" Victoire looked away bashfully. "If this is about last week I can explain. I'm really sorry. It was a-" "Don't you ever call it a mistake." Teddy said fiercely. "It was the best damn thing that's ever happened to me." He looked at her, before crushing their lips together. Tell me what you think! Xx Louisa
