Shikar City, Vulcan

T'les looked down at the sleeping infant in her arms. The child was no more than three hours old and already she was keeping her emotions hidden. T'les wondered if it had something to do with the fact that the child's father was Romulan.

T'les was roused from her thoughts when the midwife, T'kaya, walked into the room.

"Have you decided what to name her?" the young woman asked.

"She will be called T'pol," answered T'les.

T'kaya nodded an left the room.

T'les stood up and put the small child in her crib. "Sleep well my child," she said.

Enterprise NX-01

T'pol nearly fainted when she saw the Romulan ship de- cloak. It had been years since she had seen one and was surprised to see one. Then she realized that the Enterprise had entered Romulan space. When she heard the Romulan speaking over the com system she was tempted to tell Hoshi what it meant but decided not to. It would look to weird if they knew that she spoke Romulan.

After the minefield incident T'pol went to Doctor Phlox to see if she was to affected by the minefield to return to active duty (T'pol had learned several years ago that any contact with anything Romulan was harmful to her emotional control). Phlox decided that she was fine and could return to active duty whenever she felt fit.

T'pol was going to Romulus for shore leave. Unfortunately, Commander Tucker was coming with. She had tried to get him to change his mind but nothing worked. She even slapped him. But he was still going.

T'pol decided not to tell him where she was going. When he had asked she said she was going to see her father. That just prompted him to ask a million other questions.

Once they got to Romulus Trip noticed how much it looked like Earth. t'pol had agreed with him. They headed toward the senate and where greeted by a guard who smiled as soon as he saw T'pol. "Lady T'pol, it is nice to see you again," he said.

"It is agreeable to see you also, Vera," said T'pol.

"I assume that you are here to see your father?"

"Yes."

"Well you know where his office is. Is your friend going with you?"

" Yes, Vera."

"Okay."

T'pol and Trip walked through the senate until they reached a door that was marked "Admiral Valdore". T'pol opened the door and walked inside sitting at the desk was her father. " Father," she said.

Valdore looked up and promptly smiled. "T'pol!" he exclaimed as he got up and hugged her. To Trip's surprise T'pol hugged him back. "Anyone gonna introduce me?" he asked softly.

T'pol pulled away from her father and said, "Father, this is my friend Charles Tucker. Everyone calls him "Trip", though."

Valdore looked at Trip and nodded. "It is nice to meet you, Charles," he said.

"It's good to meet you to, sir," said Trip.

Valdore nodded again and said, "Let's got to my house. I'll make dinner."

The three walked out of the senate and to Valdore's house.
