Title: Unfair
Rating: PG
Pairing: Fai+Kurogane, Yuui+Kurogane

Author's Notes: This was written for a prompt on the clampkink community. The prompt was: "I want to see selfish, manipulative Yuui who blames Fay for anything bad that happens and who always tries to steal Fay's things. And also justice served cold to evil Yuui."

Holitsuba setting.

Jealousy. It had burned in Yuui's heart for as long as he could remember, jealousy and a seething, boiling resentment.

When others looked at them, all they saw were the perfect, beautiful twins who shared everything - who slept twined together in the same bed, ate the same meals, and went everywhere together. They couldn't see the truth - how incredibly unfairit was to Yuui, that everyone just assumed that he and Fai would share everything equally. Had anyone ever asked them to give up half of everything they would ever have, just to give it to someone else who didn't deserve it?

Because Fai didn't deserve it. Yuui understood that even if no one else did. Fai was selfish, and he was greedy, always wanting morethan just the two of them, always taking things for himself and then hiding them away where he thought Yuui wouldn't find out. But Fai was wrong. Yuui always found out.

And now this. And this was just the last straw, the completely unforgiveable thing - because Fai had Kurogane. They all shared the same school, so Yuui should have had a chance, an equal chance - but Fai had gotten there first, and with his coy smiles (so fake! why could no one but Yuui ever tell when Fai was lying to the world with those simpering smiles) and bribes of cupcakes, and he'd stolen Kurogane.

Now Fai thought he had won. Fai thought he could keep Kurogane to himself, and leave Yuui with nothing. But Fai was wrong. Because Yuui wouldn't stand for this, for the bitter and galling unfairness of the universe, that he could never have anything just for himself, that Fai took everything he wanted. He had a plan. He would show Kurogane just what a useless liar Fai was, and he would take Kurogane for himself, forever.

So when Kurogane stormed in, his red eyes blazing with anger and his black hair sticking up like a porcupine's quills, Yuui was ready.

"Hey!" the dark-haired boy shouted. "Which one of you jerks broke my Optimus Prime?"

"Fai did it!" Yuui cried out immediately. "He twisted the head until it broke right off, I saw him do it. He did it on purpose!"

"I did not!" Fai yelled back. "I never even touched Kuro-chan's stupid old doll."

"It's not a doll, it's an action figure!" Kurogane rounded on Fai in a fury, and Yuui smirked, gloating. Now Kurogane would be his, and Fai could see how it felt to be left out of all the games they played together. "You stupid brat, what'd you do that for?"

"Stupid brat, stupid brat, Fai's a big fat stupid brat," Yuui chanted, dancing around his twin.

"I am not!" Infuriated, Fai flung himself at Yuui, grabbing hold of his blond hair and yanking. The twins tumbled across the carpet, knocking aside crayons and drink cups, as Kurogane hollared for them to stop. "You always blame me for everything, Yuui! It's not fair!"

Yuui shrieked, and the matron of the Holitsuba Gakuen Daycare came hurrying over. "Fai, Yuui, are you two fighting again?" she said, in a voice of exasperated distress.

"He pulled my hair!" Yuui exclaimed, at the same time Fai protested "But he said -"

"That's enough!" the matron said. "Time out, both of you! Seperate corners!"

As the teachers herded them away to their exile in the barren corners of the room, Yuui looked over his shoulder and stuck his tongue out at Fai. If he had to get punished, then Fai should too.

Sometimes, the world was fair after all.
