Friends For Life

"Mitchie!" Caitlyn let the scream rip it's self from her throat as a warning for her friend as the car sped towards her.

Her friend turned to face her panic flying across her face and a second later the car slammed into her knocking her forward.

"Mitchie no!" Caitlyn was unaware of the other cars moving on the road, unaware that the arms encircling her holding her back belonged to Nate Black of Connect Three her celebrity crush.

All she was aware of was her best friend lying in the road, maybe dead, and the fact that she needed to get to her now.

Finally the arms let her go as cars halted and suddenly Caitlyn found herself collapsed by her friend's body in the middle of the road surrounded by the other witnesses.

She was vaguely aware of someone's voice letting the others know that an ambulance was on it's way and that Mitchie still had a pulse.

She knew that she hadn't fallen asleep or lost consciousness but Caitlyn found herself in the hospital waiting room with Mitchie's mum and a collection of other people. Had she been focused she would have realised that they were the witnesses of the accident.

She could vaguely hear the worried babble surrounding her but one voice cut through the wall she had built up around her.

"I'm sorry but she's dead."

She didn't have to look to know that Connie Torres had her head buried in her hands silent sobs shaking her body that the others around them were crying and hugging.

And she knew that without Mitchie she had no reason to go on.

How could you enjoy your first ever date without your best friend to pick your outfit, do your hair and make up, calm your nerves and to squeal with as you discussed the details.

How could you get through break ups without your best friends shoulder to break down on, her to threaten to kick his ass, her to watch cheesy movies with and eat comfort food with.

How could you get enjoy graduation without your best friend to laugh at old memories, dance with joy at never having to see some people again and take photos with.

How could you go to college without your best friend to share a room with, get homesick with, eat the cheapest meals you can and live it with you.

How can you enjoy your wedding when you don't have you best friend as you maid of honour, to calm your nerves, threaten the groom that if he hurts you, make a very embarrassing speech and wave you off on your honeymoon.

How can you have kids without your best friend as their godmother.

But most of all how can you get through life knowing that you'll never have the most pointless conversations ever again, bitch about others again, share secrets again, go shopping again, write notes again, copy homework again.

Knowing they'll never be there again.

And anyone who even looks at Caitlyn knows that in one accident they lost two girls. They know that she'll just flit between events in her life not living just being.

Because when 2 best friends are driven apart- They'll never be whole again.

Best Friends aren't for life. They are your life.

Okay, so slightly cheesy (especially the ending) but I quite like it. What did you think? I want to dedicate it to my four best friends- Bridget, Millie, Anna and Ruth. They are amazing. This was definitely a friendship story but you may have noticed I snuck a tiny bit of Naitlyn in there- I am obsessed I admit it.

Thanks for reading!
