Dark Angel of Mine

Darkness encircles his life, where is he to turn?

Always running from who he is.

Face your fears, Dark Angel of mine.

Even if it means facing your past.

Running awry will get you no where.

Go on, you can do it, I have Faith that you can.

They may try to take you down

Just know, please know, Dark Angel of mine.

I will be with you wherever you go.

Nothing can keep me away from you.

Together we can take the step to see your life at ease.

Like a shadow you used to creep about at night,

They have no power over you now, Dark Angel of mine.

The master of darkness, feared by all, yet full of fear.

Trying to imagine how your life must have been,

It brings tears to my eyes to think of the pain and the lies,

It wasn't your fault, Dark Angel of mine, please stop blaming yourself.

You were young, and their words were twisted and wrong.

In your dreams they haunt you, is that why you cry out?

I fear your screams, they keep me awake,

Let me hold you, Dark Angel of Mine, it's me, don't be afraid.

The fire was left behind in the streets.

Never again will the water and whips burn you.

When you first came to me, destruction was in your wake.

You caused me pain what you left behind,

Now leaving me behind results in the same, Dark Angel of mine.

Who would have known that the darkness that covered my love

Would only be revived in love by the darkness itself.

Things you tell me, your remembrance of me.

I am not an angel, I never tried to be, I hated you

I never meant to cause you agony, Dark Angel of Mine,

As you had once brought me.

We all love you, don't you see?

You have friend plenty here that love you well.

Though no ones love holds a candle, Dark Angel of mine,

To the love I hold for you.

My love is for you, not who you've been, not what you'll be.

Not because of the two blood lines that flow through your body like a curse.

I love you, for you, Dark Angel of mine.

A/N: I really like to modify my poetry to fit things that are completely random to what they were written for. Like this one. I actually wrote this one for a character in a book called Tahn, but it's rather an obscure book so it wouldn't be on here. So I read my poem again and I realized it could totally work for Elena to Damon! There are some lines that don't fit too well-I stared at them a long time but could not change them.. this was the first poem I have ever written... so it's hard for me to mess with it. Anywho, I hope you can tell what I'm trying for with the Elena-Damon thing. Enjoy!
