It's Topanga's first day of seventh grade. She is ready, but she is a little scared. Even though the people she went to school with last year is going to the same high school as her, she is still a little scared. Though it isn't the thought of going to a newer, bigger school that scares her for long. It's all because of one of her classmates in particular. His name is Shawn Hunter.

Topanga's POV

"Are you ready for the first day of seventh grade, Topanga?" Ready to go to a new school with new people?

"Yes, mom. Completely ready." I felt like that was a lie. It was seven, I had to go now. "Bye, mom!"

"Bye, honey."

I walked to school, and I got there about ten minutes early. I went on to homeroom, but there was only one other person in there, but I couldn't tell who he was. Until he turned around. It was Shawn. Shawn Hunter. I started feeling nervous, but I wasn't really sure why.

"Hi, Topanga."

"Um, uh, hi Shawn."

"Hey, have you seen Cory?"

"No, why?"

"I need to know what his schedule is."

"Oh, okay." Oh. My. Gosh. He talked to me. Last year, him and Cory hardly did anything except make fun of Minkus and I. Why was he being so nice? I snapped back to reality when Cory and a few other people walked in.

Shawn walked over to Cory and started talking to him, "Cory, what classes do you have?"

"I have English, History, Math, Lunch, Gym, then Science."

"What? They didn't put us in the same classes."

"What do you have?"

"English, Science, History, Lunch, Gym, then Math."

So, Cory only has 3 classes with Shawn. And I have every class with him. That's nice. I have every single class with the only boy I've ever felt nervous around, but I had no idea why I felt that way. I think as long as I don't talk to him, I won't make a fool of myself, and I should be just fine. The bell rang, and the rest of the students, as well as the teacher, came into the classroom. The teacher started talking, and he went over what to expect in his english class, but I drifted off into my thoughts. I was just thinking. About everything. The bell rang, and it was time for science. Whenever everybody got there, our teacher assigned us our lab partners. My science teacher decided to choose Shawn as my lab partner. Guess my "don't talk to him" theory isn't going to work. Luckily, the only thing we did in science was listen to the teacher talk about what we're going to learn this school year. In math class, we were allowed to choose our own seats, and Shawn decided to sit next to me. So, I basically spent all of math class thinking, trying to pay attention to the teacher, and trying not to do anything stupid in front of Shawn. Next was lunch, and thank gosh for that because I'm starving. I sat down at a table by myself, until Cory and Shawn came and sat down at my table. I didn't talk to them much, but they were nice enough. I spent most of the rest of the day thinking, and staring at Shawn. Until he noticed that I was looking at him. As soon as the last bell rang, I got my stuff out of my locker and hurried home. Suddenly, I was really tired. When I came into my house out of breath, dropping my backpack onto the floor, then falling onto the couch face-first, it caused my dad to ask, "Topanga, are you okay? You look exhausted." I replied to say, "Oh, it's nothing, I'm just tired." But it was something. And that something was Shawn Hunter. The only boy I've ever had a crush on. I hadn't realized it until today, but really, I think it was there all along.
