AUTHORS NOTE: Okay so this is just a short drabble, made because I noticed Terra Nova finally got a category and only has two pages. Josh is my favorite character so far, and I'm totally loving this series.

DISCLAIMER: Nope, I don't own it.

Josh knows he's the only one, the only one at all, that will miss it. The only one that will miss that dying planet, with tainted air and diminishing freedoms. The only one who will look back to their time and think well of it. The only one who was ever integrated enough to care…

Zoe will do fine, he thinks. She'll grow up in Terra Nova and already be adapted. She'll look at it with love and wonder, that was clear by how she reacted to the dinosaurs… but she'll also call it home, because she'll know nothing else. She is too young to remember and too illegal to have seen.

His other sister never really knew the outside world much, either, for that matter. She was too geeky for a social life, and normally just stayed home (She never really understood). She would read though. Read of facts and fantasy and ways to get away. It was her escape, to a far far beautiful land. A land like Terra Nova. Just like their mother, this was her dream, and she'd be forever interested.

Now, the oldest Shannons, they are in this because they remember better. They remember when you could still faintly trace the stars and the moon and the sun. A time when the world wasn't completely absorbed in smog. A time when you didn't have to wear a gas mask just to take a walk….And they want that for their children. They want their children to be able to have as many children as they want, and be able to walk free and explore nature. But amidst all this, they never stopped to ask their children what they wanted.

So his family all thought it was great. Whoop-dee- fucking- doo for the new colonists…. Cause it's not like they had anything to leave behind. Not like him, who's being ripped away from his school and his friends and his life. From basically everything he's ever known (and just for the record, he hates change. He thinks he might hate his parents to for forcing it)….And he's much too stubborn and too old to adapt now isn't he?

Only to things in Josh's memory have ever been consistent. Carr, and smog. And he'd rather hold onto the barest seams of those two things than watch them slip into the blurry folder stored in his mind of everything else. He just won't let them be replaced by this place.

Terra Nova is too new. It's too disconnected. And it's too green. And it's too predatory. And it's too unstable. And it's not home. And-

Josh knows he fucking hates this place.
