Hi guys! This is a Liberty's fanfic that I wrote over a year ago. It's just a little oneshot that takes place when Sarah is leaving to go back to England in the episode "A New Frontier" (I think that's the episode, at least) Anyway, enjoy!

Disclaimer: No, I don't own Liberty's Kids. If I did, James and Sarah would've gotten married and had adorable little ginger journalist babies.

Sarah picked up her bag and took one last look at the country she'd grown to love. For a moment, she wondered why she was leaving, but the sight of American soldiers marching in the distance reminded her.

She turned around to Moses, the man she thought of as a father, and embraced him. "I'll miss you," she whispered. He nodded. "Good luck, Sarah," he replied.

Next was Henri, who she'd begun to think of as a younger brother. "Please don't go," he pleaded in his thick French accent.

Sarah crouched down to his level. "Henri, I can't stay. I promise I'll write to you," she vowed.

Henri wiped his eyes. "Every day?"

Sarah nodded and hugged him. "Every day," she repeated.

Lastly, she turned to James, the young man her own age of 15 she'd grown close to. Before she could even open her mouth, he turned away.

"James, don't be like this," Sarah pleaded. "You know how much this hurts."

"Then why are you leaving?" he asked, still not facing her.

"Because of the fighting, you know that. I can't take one more minute of it!"

James finally turned to face her. "I thought you were my friend."

Sarah put her hands on his shoulders. "James, you're more than my friend." His heart skipped leaped. "You're my brother." And it sank.

James stood there, saying nothing. Quickly, Sarah kissed his cheek and walked away. After she'd gone, he touched that spot, blushed, and kicked himself. How had he let the girl he loved just walk away? Looking up, he saw Sarah's ship just leaving. He ran towards it. "Wait!" he called.

But James was too late. All he could do was watch Sarah sail away. In a barely audible voice he whispered, "I love you."

Unbeknownst to James, Sarah saw him. And though she was too far away to hear, Sarah just knew what James had said.

She clutched her locket and whispered back, "I love you, too."

Well, I hope you guys liked it! Review, por favor... it would be very nice :)
