How could anyone not be at peace in the rain. It dripped and pattered softly through the trees onto the ground, washing clean the sins of the world. Soon the sun would come out and shine on the glistening lawns, sweeping patios and dripping flowerbeds. Legolas smiled to himself as he wandered along a balcony, hand trailing carelessly on the sculpted wooden rail. The clouds were low but unthreatening in the sky, the rain was not too heavy. It dripped onto his hair, running down the sleek blonde silk and soaking into the silvery green velvet of his tunic. Wet grass brushed deliciously softly against his feet as he stepped onto the lawn, smiling as he blinked away the water which clung to his long eyelashes. He stopped to inhale the clean, earthy scent of the rain beside a rosebush, one hand reaching out to cup a glowing red blossom. His was not the only one. Long, coarse fingers brushed his and held the flower with him, and he turned quickly to see the smiling face of Aragorn behind him. His kingly blue eyes regarded the elf seriously for a moment before he turned his face away and looked at the rose in his fingers. He pulled it towards Legolas, not breaking the stem, and the elf bent down to smell the heavenly scent of the bloom.
'Raindrops on Roses.' his voice was soft, unspeakably gentle as Legolas watched him tip the blossom, causing the glassy beads of water to slide off. He turned into the mans arms, and he let go of the flower, enveloping Legolas in a hug. Legolas breathed in the smell of him, feeling his damp, wool tunic raw against his cheek. Aragorn sighed softly as he held him, and Legolas tipped his face up towards him. Slowly Aragorn leaned forwards and kissed the elf deliciously on the mouth, pressing his lips with gentle insistence upon Legolas'. He broke away after only a moment and smiled once more at the elf.
'Amin mela lle.' With those parting words he left the elf standing in the gentle, cleansing patter of the rain.
