Splinter stepped into the kitchen, just as he suspected, Michelangelo was the source of the noises he was hearing from the room. He was tapping away at the laptop, occasionally chuckling and nodding, "My son, it is three in the morning, what are you doing awake?"

Mikey looked up from the laptop and removed one of the listening pieces (Splinter believed he had heard the children refer to them as 'ear buds') from his ear holes, "Oh, hey master Splinter, sorry if I woke you."

"You did not, but you have not answered my question." Splinter stated, walking around behind Mikey to look at the screen, there was a smaller screen off to the side with what looked to be a conversation written in it, and there was a picture of a room. How strange.

"I'm just chatting with a friend." Mikey explained, "She lives in Auckland, so the time difference means one of us has to be up late to talk in real time."

"I see." Splinter hesitated, "My son, do you think this is wise? You remember what happened the last time you made friends in cyber space, yes?"

"Hai, sensei." Mikey said, ducking his head slightly. "But technically, I met this one in outer space. Sort of."

"Oh?" Splinter asked, taking a seat on the stool beside his youngest.

"Yeah, back in Dimension X, I, um, let's say 'found' some records of reported mutations in Oceania, Europe, North America, and Asia. Couldn't find the ones on Africa or South America though, so I don't know if there are any or not." Mikey added, somewhat to himself.

"So, you tracked down the people on the list?" Splinter asked.

"Only a few so far, and mostly Europeans, oh!" Mikey said as a girl moved into the picture of the room, and he removed the headphones from the computer, "Master Splinter this is Ripley Griffin."

"Oh, wicked!" Ripley exclaimed in a thick accent, grinning seemingly at them.

"Can, can she see us?" Splinter asked Mikey, suddenly unsure of this technology.

"Yep, and I can hear ya' too." Ripley responded. "It's pretty cool to meet you, sir."

"And you." Splinter replied without truly thinking. "So, you are a mutant as well?"

"Yep." Ripley chirped, then shifted about to unfold the large birdlike wings on her back and lightly beat them against the air to show their movements. "It's a bit weird that the mutagen added the wings to my back, instead of changing my arms, but I'm not complaining. This way I can wind surf without a sail."

"I see." Master Splinter said, honestly a little shocked by the entire situation.

"I have to sign off, Rip." Mikey said, "But if you talk to Shannon between now and next Tuesday your time, tell him Bunny needs him in four corners."

"Will do. Night."

"Night." Mikey said before turning off the computer program. Mikey then turned to Splinter, "Any questions?"

"So many." Splinter replied, shaking his head as he walked away back to bed.
